Don't stay here during the on going construction noisy from 7 AM until 5 PM. All sites are back in so if you think you have a pull through think again. Love this park but was not prepared for the noise, mess etc. Also the road next to the park is under construction and they start at 3:30 am with the big trucks.

Since last review no cable in overnight spots, no password for Internet given to overnight guest. The roads have really deteriorated since last visit. Rate is a special Escapee rate which manager stated he would no longer honor. We will not stay here again, with a much nicer place 1 block away.

Date of Stay:

Agree with all the other comments however $79 during the off season is just too much. Everything closes at 3 PM: the bar, laundry and I guess the hot tub, as it was cold and did not warm up in the late afternoon. Would love it in the high season, but not during the low season.

Date of Stay:

Good, clean park with a nice and friendly staff. Was easy to get to most tourist attractions.

There is 50amp service only on a few sites and 2 of them are pull throughs. However, they are at the end of the road and big rigs don't fit there. The size of the site is OK, but there is a danger of being hit by other campers as they make the turn. The owner is working hard to improve this park and the sites are level with grass between sites. It's close to most activities in town (walking distance). Staff is friendly and helpful. Would stay again but would make sure 50 amp back-in was available.

Nice view away from traffic, much closer to museum, grocery store and walking paths. Staff is friendly and helpful, even with a caravan here for part of our stay. There was plenty of room and we had no problem backing in to our site.

Date of Stay:

Park has insufficient bathrooms and showers for the number of cabins and tent sites. No place to wash dishes and insufficient tables for cabins and tent sites. Staff was not friendly nor helpful. It is convenient to the National Park and easy to find.

Date of Stay:

Too expensive for what you get. Might be OK in summer but no facilities in winter and still a high season rate. Not friendly. Will not stay again.

Date of Stay:

Friendly staff, very helpful. Great fishing, Great bike riding. Fishing behind RV and tent sites. Narrow road in but big turn around area. Sites are shady, pads gravel but lots of grass and dirt. Tables and fire rings each site.

Date of Stay:

Sites are close together and during the holiday this place was crowded. Interior roads are narrow and hard to navigate when park is crowded as there were multiple cars at each site. No additional parking available. Metro stop is a 30 minute drive away and it's an hour ride into the city. Few other choices if coming to see Chicago.

Date of Stay:

Easy access to park. Close to highway so convenient to all venues in city. Low noise from Highway but this is a fairground so can be loud if an event is going on. Helpful staff. Close to golf, great biking.

Date of Stay:

Unfriendly staff, limited cable and unable to set up satellite. Too many rules, Way too expensive for what you get. Rates have really increased from 2009 rate. There is limited camping but would not stay here again.

Don't worry about the entrance drive. Departing before 11 and entering after 11 means no one meets on the drive. It's an easy climb. Nice to be away from the traffic and the view is great. Very friendly staff
