HCR Horse Ranch And RV Park, Oracle, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We found this gem after passing on staying in the national forest campground down the road. We met the owner as he rode up on his horse. We knew we liked him immediately. He was so accommodating! After day tripping we came back and met the manager. Another super guy. He showed us around, and made us feel very comfortable. I hope we weren't too comfortable. The restrooms were very clean. A great patio area. And, the hacienda was beautiful. Decor was recycled wood. Very well done. Everyone we met was so friendly. The night skies we amazing. Beautiful vistas in all directions. We didn't ride, but would love to some day. We will be back. Everything was on the honor system, and it worked well. We camped at HCR Horse Ranch And RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

We went into Oracle and went to some interesting shops. Had lunch at the Oracle Patio Café. Later went to Oracle State Park. Very interesting ranch home to tour, and beautiful scenery.

Biosphere2 is just down the road also.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We got in late, and left early, so never saw any staff.

Had a great site overlooking the lake. Stars were incredible.

Overall, a great place for a great price. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA, Bernalillo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We don't generally stay in KOA because of the price. This was a welcome sight. It was impeccable! Well done. We were guided to our site. Utilities were lighted, and easy to find. Park was an easy on, off the freeway. No traffic noise. We camped at Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA in a Motorhome.

We were only here one night so the only place we went was the mini brewery/restaurant next door to the park. It was very quaint.

Louisville State Recrection Area, Louisville, Nebraska

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here during the off season. The only restrooms were vault toilets, but they were acceptable. They were a long distance from the campsite though. As others stated, there was a lot of train traffic, but we like trains so it was no problem. It is in a beautiful setting, and close to a great little pizza place. We camped at Louisville State Recrection Area in a Motorhome.

Belle Starr's Silverado Ranch , Douglas, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a campground per se. It is a boon dock area. Belle does not charge, but much appreciates a donations of money, or help on the ranch. You need to be self-contained, but it is an experience you will not soon forget. You will LOVE Belle. We camped at Belle Starr's Silverado Ranch in a Motorhome.

Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

Lakeside is the nicest park we have stayed at. This is our 3rd visit, and although we miss the former managers, the new managers are doing a fine job. There was some tension in the park when we arrived, but whatever it was, has been worked out. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is plenty to keep you busy, or if you choose to take it easy, you can also do that. All the workers take great pride in making this a great place to stay. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Port O'Connor RV Park, Port O'Connor, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with the other previous reviews. This park is great. Everything is new and clean. The staff is very friendly. And the rate is very reasonable. This rate I noted, is the monthly rate. This park is the best kept secret in Texas. We camped at Port O'Connor RV Park in a Motorhome.
