Malibu Beach RV Park, Malibu, California

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely campsite! We paid the cheapest rate - $35 for elec/water hookup only, with a "mountain view". What we actually got was an ocean view as the space opposite was empty! Plus the dump station is free to use. Laundromat, showers and restrooms were all extremely clean. Wi-fi internet access is free of charge and works well. Staff were a little strict but they clearly do a good job of maintaining the camp. They will give you a list of rules to follow when you enter but to be fair most of them are just common sense. The spaces were all very flat which is great considering the camp is on a steep hill! Spaces were tight however and you must back in. For the price, facilities, and location, this has to get a 10/10. I had the best 2 nights sleep of my whole trip in this campground, and woke up each morning to a beautiful view of Malibu and the blue Pacific Ocean! We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Saratoga Springs, Saratoga, California

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Pleasant location. However the site was not flat, which made for awkward sleeping. This was surprising as it is tarmac all the way through. Restrooms and showers needed a LOT of work (holes in the walls, cramped and dirty). Wifi was available for $6. This site has a lot of potential as it is beautifully situated in the woods and right by a stream, and has all facilities available. However the problems mentioned above mean I can only give it a 6 out of 10. We camped at Saratoga Springs in a Motorhome.

Novato RV Park, Novato, California

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent site, the cleanest I've seen. All facilities available. Showers and restrooms large, spacious and spotless. Very flat site, tarmac all the way through. Wifi available for $6. Less than an hours drive to San Francisco. Gave it a 9/10 as it is expensive, but would definitely stay again. We camped at Novato RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indian Flat RV Park, El Portal, California

Date of Stay: November, 2008 - $35.00

I usually use campground bathrooms and showers. I didn't bother using the ones here as they were filthy. No internet access unless you walk to a restaurant next door. The office smelled of cigarette smoke. The only real benefit this campsite has is that it was the closest we could find to Yosemite Village. We camped at Indian Flat RV Park in a Motorhome.

Longstreet Hotel Casino & RV Resort, Amargosa Valley, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2008 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. No wifi available and limited facilities (could not see a laundromat or restrooms/showers). Nice site for the price, with mountain views. Don't expect too much; it's in the middle of nowhere but very close to Death Valley. We camped at Longstreet Hotel Casino & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
