This campground I've frequented for many years with my family. It is one of the most beautiful in the state of Michigan. It lies on the shore of Lake Huron with the beautiful "huron dunes" between the campground and the lake. It tends to remain relatively unpopulated except on summer weekends. The facilities are first rate. As we usually tent camp here, I can't tell you first hand about RVing at this camp, however there are plenty of motorhomes found here offering testimony to it being RV friendly. The beach is long and uncrowded (albeit a little rocky) and our only complaint was the sand flies can be rabid at times. The campground is shaded and most sites are level.

This is a beautiful member of the Michigan State Park system. Most of the sites are paved and level, and most are shaded. The best sites are located steps away from Lake Superior with some of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever seen. The waterfront has benches angled to the direction of the sunset for optimal viewing. Swimming is available near the outlet of the Portage River, but very cold! The only complaint is one bathroom building supplying the whole campground. The sites are private and well maintained. This park is an absolute joy and one we travel back to again and again.
