Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages, Indio, California

Date of Stay: March, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

As did the previous entry, we stayed here on a promotional pass. My initial impression of this park is that it's tired, entry road is rough, gate is unattended and open during the day but closed at 1600 (4pm). The basic facilities are here but old and unappealing. We were assigned a site with only 30 amp service and no sewer without being asked if we wanted (or needed) more. The sites are level cement with a cement parking area for the toad, some shade trees but good satellite dish access. The park is one block from a large fire station and not too far from a rail line so it's noisy at night. The sales presentation was moderate pressure, but with no effort to find out what our requirements were, just kept beating on how much we would save over the years. Overall I was very disappointed and would not return to this park again. We camped at Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get into despite warnings by previous posts, mostly empty at this time of the year so our choice of sites. Staff was friendly but didn't have any info on local events or attractions. The first night was fairly quiet but the second night the wind was out of the south and lots of truck noise from I-80. Cable and WiFi both worked well, sites are compacted gravel and level so set up was not a problem. I would stay here again, lots of interesting places in the town and area. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly treatment from staff, lots of sites available at this time of the year, some upgrading taking place in the park. Easy access to park but the driveway coming in is a bit narrow. Wi-Fi and cable were both good. My concern with this park is the noise level, it's situated between two major roads and close to both the railway and airport so it's difficult to sleep! Despite the noise concerns I would stay there again. We camped at Camp A Way in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were parked right on the riverbank giving a wonderful vista of the river traffic and downtown Memphis in the distance. A little bit noisy at night with the barge traffic and occasional train but we did get used to it. Because this area is quite low it's subject to floods and the roads to the pads have a lot of potholes but the staff is doing their best to keep up. Sites are level concrete but do pool water in heavy rains. We were early in the season so the area was somewhat drab. I would recommend this park for both short and long term and would have given it an 8 if the roads were repaired. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Ivy's Cove RV Retreat, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Relatively small park with office unattended most of the day. Owner can be contacted by phone at all times. No real shaded areas but flat and compacted gravel roads and sites. As noted previously GPS leads to a different lot but on the same road and the signage makes it easy to find the park. Located within 1/2 mile of I40 but didn't find it noisy at night. Lots of restaurants and shopping readily available and friendly staff when they are around. Limited recreation facilities within the park so I would recommend it for short term, not as a destination. We camped at Ivy's Cove RV Retreat in a Motorhome.

Ozark Country Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park and friendly staff to greet us. Escort to site and lots of help with driving suggestions and brochures for various shows in Branson. Compacted gravel roads and pads but close to level and well drained. Large clean laundry room with books and TV, good WiFi reception where we were in the pull thru section. I would recommend this park for both short and long term. We camped at Ozark Country Campground in a Motorhome.
