This park is up front that it is an Adult park with little or no amenities for the kids! If you are adult and traveling, it is a great stop for a night or season as they are popular with both types of visitors. Very friendly. You will need to request a satellite site if desired, as they are under a hill on the sw side. We stayed twice in July.

Date of Stay:

Very typical KOA with all expected amenities. Glad to have solid 50 amp service when temps are over 100F. Has good shade and very pet friendly. New management since our last visit.

This is a rustic campground between Hill City and Deadwood on route 385. Sites are tight but they allowed empty spaces between our 40ft plus coaches. They have cabins available as well, and a store/restaurant on site. Very nice location with good satellite and Wi-Fi but limited cell phone coverage on site.

Date of Stay:

This campground has seen site improvements over the past few years and continues to an easy assess, effective stop at somewhat higher costs. There is little grass at pull through sites and some highway noise but that was no surprise. Nice pet walk area.

I was pleasantly surprised at this Passport America campground. Very easy site access and hookups with 50 amp service. Great overnight spot in the heat for only $22 PA rate. Much better value than other sites along I-90. Will stop again if schedule amiable.

This park required some limited navigation off tollway, and I was overwhelmed by the expansive pine tree coverage. Asked for a satellite friendly site, which was not friendly and not even close to my hook up capability. (I carry 20 fit of hose). Had to move after set up. Asked for a site behind me (sparsely populated sites) so that I could just back up and was told I would have to pay more for the patio on my already expensive stay. Overall sites are small, unlevel and not grassy. Think I will stay someplace else when in the area.

This park had some previously high reviews but we were not that impressed with the overall condition. It is an adequate overnight with full services on a gravel parking lot. They have a large dog run available. Probably would not stay again.

Very acceptable overnight stop with all utilities working well. Easy access. We spent the night on tornado watch with all the residents. There was some initial confusion with the work campers still needing some instruction for emergency procedures. Overall we would stay here again, but without the tornadoes.

I rated this park as a nine for a year round stop and shelter in very tough area in the winter. It was wonderful to come and get full service in Feb in mid-Illinois. Even the water hookup was nicely winterized. This will be a regular stop for this snowbird. I am sure that is also very nice in the summer with the fishing lake.

This park is in a great location, the folks are very friendly with several activities. We enjoyed our month stay. We were in the older section which required paid cable or remote sat dish which was not a problem. Local stations are easy to get as well. Internet Wi-Fi is limited to be kind. The electric bill was over 200 for month of Feb. (we like it cool.) Next time I would prefer the newer lots towards the front with bigger pads and include electric at a higher cost. I am being truthful here but understand that we really liked the folks and had great time with new friends and will likely return.

I can not rate this campground as a 10 because the sites are very tight, took an hour to check in, and most importantly, our wireless was not functional for over 5 days of our two week stay and no one apparently cared. Every day I asked for sense of urgency in rebooting their system but nothing happened for 5 agonizing days. We attended a rally and did not come for the "free" food. We will return for the rally next year in spite of the campground.

We stopped going south and turned on our water system. Had heard about about the junk yard noise before 5 and the potential highway noise, but no one ever mentioned the nigh time helicopter assaults over our roof. We laughed and went to sleep anyway as we were too tired to care. Will likely stay here again in the future as it is a convenient stop.

This park is a solid overnight stay with all amenities available for a price. The newer sites are very narrow and terraced and would be questionable for a longer stay. They served wonderful cookies at your site after you check in and try their pizza as it is delicious. Like it enough to stay both directions on our snowbird trip.

As all have said, this is a very nice park. Very reasonably priced, not really close to Branson but that is fine. Words of caution: no ATT cell service on site. Had to drive a mile up the hill to use cell. Internet was good however. Had very nice hospitality on Friday nights.

Location, location, location. These are the main strengths of this campground. The sites were a little tight and somewhat deteriorated, but the utilities were fine and the 50 amp service was very welcome in the heat wave. Food was not worth the cheap price. Great fireworks display on the 3rd. Overall probably the best overnight opportunity on I-35 in IA.
