Indian Brave Campground, Harmony, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: December, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We contacted the owner of this campground because we needed a site for our motorhome, for one month. The campground was advertised as "open" for the off season but the owner was actually in New Hampshire, trying to run a business/campground located in Western Pennsylvania. We received directions to the campground, used time and gas to view it, and tried to work something out because we needed a space. The owner kept changing the monthly fee...from $280.00, to $350.00, down to $250.00 and back to $350.00. As a business this campground is confused and disorganized. I recommend against it. We camped at Indian Brave Campground in a Motorhome.

Rose Point Park Cabins and Camping, New Castle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: December, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I would like to recommend that no one ever try to rent a space at this campground. When we called, with a full description of our motorhome and our plans we were told that the fee for one month would be "$200.00" and we were given directions to the site, so that we could make a decision. We drove 40 miles from Pittsburgh to see this campground, then the owner's wife told us the fee would be "$525.00 plus electric." It was one big waste of time. They made promises to call and never did. We used time and gas and finally the owner said, about renting a spot, "this just isn't something we do."The place is cramped and crowded and ugly. We camped at Rose Point Park Cabins and Camping in a Motorhome.

Clear Creek State Park, Sigel, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Clear Creek State Park has comfortable clean cabins, very helpful and friendly rangers and workers. We rented two cabins for our family reunion and had a wonderful time. A short distance from our cabins (about two miles) we rented boats for a trip on the Clarion River. This park was enjoyable for our youngest guest (six years) and our most senior (87 years.) We camped at Clear Creek State Park in a Campground Cabin.
