Staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities at this park are kept very clean and seem to be well maintained. We visited here via our RPI membership. There are organized activities, a spaghetti dinner ($5) and a Thanksgiving dinner ($10) were available as well as Sunday breakfast and ice cream socials. Park is quiet and there is a green belt along the river side of the park as well as boat launch ramp and small beach area for fishing.

Quiet campground with shaded sites that back up into protected forest area. Area is well kept and clean. Staff is also very helpful. They offer a $6 BBQ for lunch on Saturdays and have a pot luck on Wednesdays. Elevation is 7,000 which makes it a good choice to escape the heat in Phoenix. It is a bit remote, so you will want to bring your fresh produce and meat with you. There is a small cafe with a service station and convenience store within a mile and they are also just a few miles from the Happy Jack Lodge, which also has a restaurant (open on the weekends) and a convenience store.

Park was in need of repair and improvements. Steps to office and especially the clubhouse were worn. One side of the clubhouse was missing steps altogether and taped off with caution tape. Restrooms and showers were kept very clean. A stream also passes through the park, which was very nice. Roses and other plants are distributed around the park. Staff was very friendly. Not a place you would want to hang out all day but it was close to 3 wineries and the fish hatchery, which I recommend visting. There is also a lot to see and do in nearby Cottonwood and Camp Verde. Paths to hiking trails are on the property. We had no concerns about leaving our site for the day, staff are pretty aware of who should be there and who should not. The information indicated that there were activities but nothing was going on the weekend we were there. Also, the restaurant at the top of the drive has been closed for awhile.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Lots of things going on, lots of people. Camp sites are very close to each other. Staff was helpful. Pool bar area was a lot of fun, they sure do enjoy their karioke. If you are looking for a quiet, get back to nature place, this is not it. Great for a family getaway and to be on the water. We received, with our camper purchase, a stay at a CRA resort. Of course, we were required to participate in a 90 minute presentation, which ended up being over 2hrs. Not all of their fault. Be cautious, what they tell you can be misleading and you do feel pressured to buy. It was very informative nonetheless and based on discussions with fellow campers, we chose to purchase resale and saved ourselves several thousands of dollars.
