Letchworth State Park, Castile, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $27.00

Fantastic park! Jaw dropping scenery throughout the 17 mile long park. We camped in the 700 loop and I would highly recommend it. Lots of tall trees and fairly private sites. Not one single mosquito bite for the 5 nights we stayed, first week of August 2008. We loved the nearby pool, various scenic over-looks / picnic areas, and numerous deer. Low priced water park about 1 hour drive away. Look forward to going back. We camped at Letchworth State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Indian Lake State Park, Lakeview, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $27.00

Not the best camping experience. It seems like this was a great place a few years ago, and they have been letting it go. Although, very early in the camping season, I still wouldn't have expected the grass to be a foot tall. They did cut our grass on our site and the site around us a few hours after we showed up. The worker asked me to help move the picnic table as they were short staffed. Campground was only about 1/4 full. Bathrooms and showers could have been cleaner and not so smelly. Good size sites, however could use a few more trees and effort from the staff. A little unorganized. We camped at Indian Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Harrison Lake State Park, Fayette, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent, extremely clean, mid-size campground. Large level sites with paved driveways, turn around loops, and very clean bathrooms and shower house. Only 2 problems I noticed was the mosquito's got a little bit worse every day and night we stayed and the park is bit of a drive to everything. I was told they spray for mosquito's during peak camping season, but when I went back in the fall they were just as bad, however it was a very warm weekend. Overall, a great little known gem on a quiet little lake. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.
