Defeated Creek Park COE, Carthage, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful cg off the beaten path. Well worth a week or a weekend. They have large, level sites on the water. The swimming area is nice, with a sandy bottom. They also have tennis court, nice playground, and volley ball. Flat roads, nice for biking. The easiest check-in I have ever seen. You don't even have to get out of your car. Very quiet at night. We will definitely return. We camped at Defeated Creek Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2005 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here for the first time after hearing great reviews about this park. They were right. It is a great park with beautiful views. Many bike trails and easy access to the beach. The sites are large. We had a waterfront site and had lots of room, the sites are very level. Very nice, informative rangers. The only downside is you have to pay a toll every time you leave the cg. to get back in, but it is only $0.35. We had heard they had a raccoon problem, but we only saw 1 while we were there. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park had very large pull-thru sites. We pulled in and didn't even have to level. We used this park as a stop-over for 1 night. Easy access to I-75. The bathrooms were very clean and has marina and golf course. Very quiet cg at night and friendly office staff. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2004 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here after rave recommendations from others. They were right on. Very nice, landscaped, level sites. This is the nicest cg we have ever stayed in. The beach is a short 1/2 mile by bike or tram. The beach is beautiful and deserted. Couldn't ask for more. We will definitely return. Have already made reservations for this September. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.
