River's Edge Resort, Fairbanks, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Satellite reception not available - latitude and trees. Park is very nice, well maintained and situated on the Chena river. Nice view. But it's pricey for what you get. Cable TV (13 channel lineup). Side to side site space is adequate but front to back space is not adequate at all - very cramped. Difficult to park your truck or toad near your camper. We camped at River's Edge Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Fas Gas RV Park, Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved a 50 amp pull through site with a sewer. At the time of the reservation they said we would get a 50 amp, pull through with sewer. OK, fine. Upon arrival they told us they did not have 50 amp service, only 30 amp. They also said they had no sewers. But, I thought that might be OK because a large sign at the entrance advertised they had a dump station. BUT the office said they didn't have a dump station either, in spite of the sign at the entrance. Staff was very unfriendly, not helpful and not at all sympathetic. I later learned that most of Canada has only 30 amp service. So, since that is the case we should have been told only 30 amp was available when we made the reservation. Why tell your guests they can have 50 amp when you know you can't provide it? There is no laundry either. You have to drive to a motel a few blocks away and take your chances there. This really isn't an RV park. It's a dirt lot that adjoins a gas station. Would not stay here if it wasn't the only place nearby. We camped at Fas Gas RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yukon Motel & Lakeshore Resort, Teslin, Yukon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We made our reservation three months in advance. Our reservation was for 50 amp and full hookups. When we checked in we were told our site "Had been given away" because "they had a lot of people checking in". It seems to me that people who make reservations should be given priority over people who just show up. So, they gave us a site that was not al all level, had only 30 amp service and had no sewer. Very disappointing. If you have a reservation system, then use it! We would not stay here again. We camped at Yukon Motel & Lakeshore Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Toad River Lodge & RV Park, Toad River, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located in a beautifu setting - tree covered mountains, snow capped mountains, adjacent to a river, lake (we saw a female moose feeding in the water on the opposite side of the lake). Nearby restaurant (with hundreds of hats nailed to the ceilings) and diesel fuel is available. Park is dusty from road dirt but this is a fact of life when traveling the Alcan Highway. There is some road noise from traffic on the Alcan but, again, this is normal. Sites are level and spacious. Would love to stay here again. It was a welcome sight after dealing with the Alcan bumps and gravel areas. A very pleasant surprise for a town with a population of 75! We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coffee Creek RV Park, Fort St. John, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Park has had several managers in the last 2 or 3 years. Current manager was very friendly and very helpful. Could not have asked for a better manager. Not sure what happened to the previous managers. Park is really just a gravel lot. However, believe they are working on installing landscaping but I don't know the details - perhaps trees. We were told to pick a site on the uphill side because the lower side gets very muddy in rainy weather and can be difficult to maneuver. We camped at Coffee Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bow RiversEdge Campground, Cochrane, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is immaculate. Very well landscaped and very well maintained. Some criticism because sites are very narrow, neighbor is very close. They have planted trees and shrubs between sites and these help but the campers are still very close side to side. We camped at Bow RiversEdge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hinton / Jasper KOA, Hinton, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Signs displaying quiet hours were posted in several places, but the quiet hour time was definitely not enforced. Wide sites, did not feel on top of our neighbors. Laundry was small (4 washers, 4 dryers) but very clean. We camped at Hinton / Jasper KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tok RV Village, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very well maintained. Only 7 channels of cable TV. Traveling to Alaska, at some point your satellite dish will be pointing almost parallel to the ground and at other areas you will not be able to contact the satellite at all. But, the problems of trees and latitude are small considering you get to enjoy being in Alaska. So, cable TV is more important than it normally would be. Laundry was clean. Each washer load cost $3.50 and each dryer load cost $1.50. 6 washers and 8 dryers. Overall a good campground. Only real criticism - its pricey at $50 per night. We camped at Tok RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Crater of Diamonds State Park , Murfreesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park - one of the best. We don't travel with children so we can't comment on children's amenities. The sites are spacious and well spaced, and there are many trees affording privacy and shade. We stayed here while visiting the Crater of Diamonds State Park. In fact, the office for the campground is located inside the Crater of Diamonds park visitors center. You can walk to the state park from the campground if you want, but we drove. You get pretty tired after a hard day of finding diamonds and a ride back to the camper feels good! A caution - this park fills up quickly so make reservations well in advance. Campers who pulled in after we did were turned away because they had no reservations and the campground was fully booked. Our back-in site was reasonably level (even though the park is in the Arkansas hills) and had a picnic table, grill and a fire pit. The picnic table was located on a concrete pad. Checkout time was 3 PM which was also nice. Our only negative comment - the beautiful, plentiful trees make satellite reception all but impossible and the campground does not have cable. So, turn off the TV and enjoy this beautiful area. We stayed at site 14. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park partly because of their reviews but mostly because of their location. They are situated approximately 16 miles to Carlsbad Caverns NP and a little farther (on the same road) to Guadalupe Mountains NP. It's hard to beat this location if you are sightseeing in this area. When you enter the park, you see some very small, cramped sites in the first two rows (occupied perhaps by long term guests?). But then as you drive to the back part of the park, the sites become much larger and are more spacious. We were pleasantly surprised. The office staff was pleasant and the park was clean and appeared to be well maintained. We don't travel with children so we don't look for swimming pools, miniature golf courses or McDonald's playgrounds. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Anthony/El Paso West KOA (formerly American RV & Marine Resort & Rally, Anthony, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park after having some work done on our fifth wheel at Camping World, which is literally adjacent to the park. The park is very flat and there is ample space between sites. The park is located on a dirt lot so there is some dust but, after all, this is desert country so you have to expect some dust. So, please drive slowly in the park so you don't create dust for other campers. We only stayed one night, after our camper repairs were completed, but we would stay here again. We camped at Anthony/El Paso West KOA (formerly American RV & Marine Resort & Rally in a Fifth Wheel.

Denton Ferry RV Park & Resort, Cotter, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times while fishing in the area. This is a great campground and you will enjoy staying here. You can reserve a pull-through site or a back-in site that overlooks the beautiful White River. They have a good laundry, 2 washers, 2 dryers, $1.00 each. There is also a nice recreation room adjacent to the office. The manager is very accommodating and helpful. The campground has gravel but dust is not a problem. Sites are very open for good satellite reception and there is a lot of space between sites. We camped at Denton Ferry RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rose Valley RV Ranch, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It is hard to over-compliment this campground. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites are spacious with lots of trees between you and your neighbor. In some sites there are so many trees you cannot see your neighbor, yet the trees generally are not so tall that you worry about one falling on your camper. We had a picnic table mounted on a concrete patio and surrounded by a wooden privacy fence (site 24). Campground is very convenient for visiting Silver City and surrounding attractions. We look forward to returning to this wonderful campground. We camped at Rose Valley RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Barn RV Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small campground, but very nice and very convenient for visiting Roswell. The owner was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. You will enjoy meeting her. Campground is clean and well maintained. It is level and has trees that provide good shade. There are two pull-through sites. There is some road noise, but not significant. Would highly recommend staying here. We camped at Red Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn), Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park, level, clean, well maintained and very close to (in our opinion) the best entrance to Big Bend NP. Yes, the campground is mostly dirt but this is the desert so don't expect palm trees and waterfalls! Campsites are very roomy - no problems with being too close to your neighbors. The office manager was very nice to us, but seemed a little grumpy with the lady who was in line in front of us. Not sure what that was about. We look forward to staying here again. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.
