Shenandoah Valley Campground, Verona, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Verona is the best campground in the area. Duke and Tina are wonderful hosts, and will work with you regarding reservations and other needs. Campground is well-maintained, very family-oriented, and has lots of amenities. This is our favorite! We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: January, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Note: Have never camped here, but system made me enter a date. Made a reservation over the telephone for Memorial Weekend 2009, in January. Called 3/27/2009 to cancel and was informed we could not have our deposit back. They do not refund deposits for what they call "Premium Weekends". This was not told to us over the phone. We received the information/confirmation via email, but by that time they already had our card number to charge us. Beware. They provided very poor customer service and were downright rude. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Motorhome.

Holiday Trav-L-Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Please be advised they do have a dangerous dog policy. We had to leave our Rottweiler at home, even though he is well trained. Lumping all dogs into the same category, based on breed, is the same as lumping all people into the same category based on race. Ridiculous. Will never visit this campground again. We camped at Holiday Trav-L-Park in a Fifth Wheel.
