Lake Haven Retreat, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived to visit family, this park is nice and clean , friendly staff, roads are gravel. Corners Can be a bit tight if your in a bigger RV. We were close to the pond. Laundry room was clean. Will stay here again in the future. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Taos Valley RV Park & Campground, Taos, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The lady in the office put me in a space way to small for my 5th wheel (we had reservations). I ended up with scratches on both sides (sagebrush) trying to get into my spot. Price was high for what you get. Bathrooms were clean but very outdated and old looking. We arrived after they closed and had no codes for the bathrooms. Only stayed 1 night instead of 7 that we had planned to stay. This appears to be a old KOA campground of 30+ years ago. We camped at Taos Valley RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Spend some time at the Pueblo , its commercialized to some degree but worth the trip. They charge for cameras so beware. Walk around the shops downtown. Visit the bridge and see the Rio Grande river 1000 ft below. The sunsets from Taos are beautiful.

Camp-N-Town, Carson City, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had decided to stay in Carson City for 3 to 4 nights to enjoy the museums and see what the capital of Nevada was about. From pulling into the park, the office is in front of you and have to make a U-turn to get to your spot. There appears to be alot of long term RV'ers here with one side looking run down and trash all over the place. Luckily the woman in the office (very rude talking about other customers and cussing excessively) put us on the other side or we would have left. They use paper and no computer system, so after navigating some tight turns and roads, we found our spot, setup and settled in. Unfortunately we had to put up a deposit for the shower/restroom key and to my wife's dismay, key worked in BOTH the mens and women doors so she choose to use the RV shower instead. Restrooms were out of toilet paper in the women's side (this was just after 12pm, we told the lady in the office and she had an attitude about it and told a kid standing in the office to put toilet paper in the women's restroom). There is also a deposit required to use the cable ($75), luckily we had satellite of our own and chose to use ours. We ended up leaving early after some shady characters were driving around trying to steal things from around peoples rigs, going up and down each row every night after dark. We will never return, we need to feel safe but we definitely didn't at this park. We camped at Camp-N-Town in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Museums downtown are cool. RV Park is in town but not walkable distance to the casinos. We walked thru some of the casinos. This is definitely not a 24 hour town like Las Vegas.
