Burns RV Park

Burns, Oregon

Date of Stay:

This was a very nice park with a very friendly owner. With all the heat, he was doing a good job of keeping the grass green. The sites were gravel and we didn't have a lot of trouble leveling our 5th wheel. The sites were large enough with tables at each site and most had shade. Wifi and cable worked good. The bathroom and shower were clean. The laundry room had large machines and a low price. We didn't notice any noise as the A/C ran some of the night. There were lots of geese which looked great flying across the pink night skies. There was a good sized book exchange. We would stay again.

This is a self serve campground. There was no manager on site so you paid by envelope. The sites were nice with grass and a tree with a table built into the cement slab. There was one large shower in the restroom which was very hot and stuffy on a hot day. You had to shower and get out quick as there was no ventilation. The laundry room was the smallest I have ever seen. There was nothing here for kids though the McDonalds was within walking distance. The freeway was on one side and a truck stop on the other so it was quite noisy at night as the trucks ran their motors all night. Most of the TV channels came in poorly, while a couple were very clear. WiFi worked fine. No pool or rec room. Good for a one night stay.

The site was grassy, with a table, and close to the water. The bath house closest to us had one shower which was out of order. The bath house farther away had toilets covered in waste. We were unable to use the sewer hookup, as it was too far from the fifth wheel. Right after we arrived, the maintenance man started mowing with a drivable mower. He had no care and just about hit our vehicle and me as he attempted to mow. He just gave us a dirty look, like we were supposed to know what he was going to do next. During the night there was a terrible smell, which we assumed was from the factory in town. It was enough to make me nauseated. The whole campground lost electricity for about 15 minutes in the evening. Our rig was filled with bugs and mosquitoes. The next morning, large sprinklers came on soaking everything. We later saw a sign at the check-in window saying there was an irrigation system. No one ever mentioned it to us. If you have a boat and are out on the water all day, it is probably a good spot, but otherwise, it was a very bad experience. Would definitely not stay here again.

The online pictures made this campground look really nice, when in fact, the bathrooms were very old with the smaller one being quite dirty. The pool and rec room was nice though we couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. The pool was full of folks who lived close by. The owner who was quite nice helped us park but did not think about the slides so we re parked. Instead of grass, we had to park in dirt which was made worse with the high winds. The pet area was just a small dirt/gravel area for the dog to go. There was no table in our site. It was nice enough for a short stay.
