Spring Lake RV Resort, Halstead, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Park is well maintained. There are plenty of long term sites but also plenty of sites for short stopovers. Laundry and restrooms are clean and well kept. Management is friendly and responsive. Grounds are extensive but well kept and we saw no areas that were not neatly mowed. WiFi is available but we had good Verizon service. There is no TV cable but plenty of off the air TV channels covering the major networks. We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Point of Rocks Motel and RV Park, Sidney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The park is about fifteen miles West of Sidney on US30 and three miles East of Potter. The place is well kept. Sites are grass and driveway is bladed gravel. Both pull through and back-in sites are long and wide enough for even the biggest rigs. As of this writing, the restrooms are not in service. There is no office but there is a self check-in box. The park is adjacent to busy RR tracks so not for everyone but at $20 per night for full hookups, the place is a bargain. We camped at Point of Rocks Motel and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cabelas, Walmart, an assortment of fast foods, restaurants and a few specialty shops are in Sidney, just fifteen miles away. Trains go by every ten or fifteen minutes but rarely blow a horn. Their rumble did not bother us but it might not suit some people.

Red River RV Park, Red River, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

New managers are working hard to upgrade the park. They are also very friendly and customer service oriented. Old water lines have been replaced with PEX tubing. New TV cable. Electric service soon to be upgraded but adequate for now. Sites are graveled and mostly level, many wide enough to park beside the rig. All are back in and require disconnecting except for very short trailers. LotsShowers, bathrooms and laundry are clean and open day and night. Although sites and parking are snug, there is adequate room to move around and managers are helpful for anyone having difficulty parking. Rate shown is based on monthly parking. Electric usage billed separately for monthly use only. We camped at Red River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of good tourist shopping and restaurants. Fishing, hiking jeep trails, as well as various community activities. Due to higher elevation, it might be a good idea to allow a day to just to get acclimated to thinner air. People with breathing difficulties might need longer.

Ollie Liner Center, Plainview, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Neat and well maintained county park. Sites are asphalt paved, about 24 are 50/30/20 full hookup. The rest look to be just 30 amp electric. Rate is going to be increased to $25 in a few months, $20 for seniors. Location is across street from the county jail on the South side of town. It is also next to an active railroad track. Both back in and pull thru sites are available. We camped at Ollie Liner Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Countryside RV Park, Falfurrias, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The place is kept clean and well groomed. The management is constantly upgrading facilities and doing preventive maintenance on the sites, making this one of the nicest parks we have visited without being expensive. Rate shown is weekly. Daily rate is $30. Activities are as mentioned in previous posts. Laundry has 6 washers and 6 dryers and is well maintained. The only negative is that there are no major TV networks off the air and no cable TV. We camped at Countryside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Horse Creek RV Campground, Circle, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for an overnight with laundromat. The campground is pretty basic but sites are mostly level. The big surprise was the laundromat. It is clean, comfortable and very well kept. There are twelve washers and ten dryers all in perfect working order. The owner is friendly and works to keep the place in good condition. The sites are grassy with some gravel. This is definitely not a destination park but is a good place to stop for a day or few. We camped at Horse Creek RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Jacksonport State Park, Newport, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The place is beautiful and very well kept. Sites are paved. They are a bit short but long enough for a big rig if you back all the way to the curbs. We had to park the truck diagonal across the front but there was room. A dump is available but no sewer connection at the sites. Rate shown is the basic rate. There is a 25% discount for people over 62 if out of state. For in state residents, that is a 50% discount. We will certainly return if in the area. We camped at Jacksonport State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mayflower County Park, Blythe, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

The rate of 12.50/day reflects the Passport America discount. Sites are spacious but parking is on grass. Driveways are just sand and grass. Some driveways are difficult to get through because of loose sand. The water supply is really gross, as in nothing I could bear to taste. The park is too far from cell towers for reliable service, at least on my Sprint cell. Verizon air card service was weak. The good: the park is in a scenic location on the Colorado River and is a peaceful setting for a relaxing stay. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cypress Grove RV Park, Gold Hill, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean and well kept park in a scenic area. Sites are gravel, not spacious but big enough for most rigs. Management seems friendly and helpful. TV cable works fine here with sharp pictures and a good selection of networks. I did not try the Wi-Fi because we had a good Verizon air card signal. We will come back if we are in the area. We camped at Cypress Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fawndale Oaks RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful location convenient to Interstate 5. The owners are friendly and very responsive to tenants' needs. It is a small park but a very nice place to spend a day or longer. The place is kept clean and well maintained with fairly level sites. Price includes tax. TV cable was weak at our site. To me, that was the only negative. Verizon air card signal was strong so I did not use the Wi-Fi there. We will stay here again if in the area. We camped at Fawndale Oaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Edgington RV Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are friendly and very helpful. Sites are level, gravel, and plenty big for most rigs. The rate shown is for Passport America. Site fee includes first 20 kwh of electric usage. Usage above that is an extra. There is an even swap book exchange and clean laundry facilities. Passport rate is not limited to short stays. This is definitely a place we'll come back to when in the area. We camped at Edgington RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lincoln Trail State Park, Marshall, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I really cannot add anything to what has already been written, but thought that a more recent review was needed. We stayed in the Plainview Campground. The park is still in excellent condition; a beautiful, well maintained park with friendly hosts. Water faucets are readily available, not more than a hundred feet from most sites. Sites are level and easy to get into, even with a big rig. The rate we paid is for out of state campers. We camped at Lincoln Trail State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Onapa RV Park and Campground, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This place is convenient to the highway but nicely secluded. As others mentioned, the owners are very nice and are working hard to make this a top notch place to stop. Sites are large enough for any rig and the electric power seems to be stable. Our air card worked here but was slower than in a metro area. There was no TV cable but plenty of off the air TV channels. The rate reflects Passport America discount. We'll definitely stay here again when we're in the area. We camped at Onapa RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sundowner RV Resort, Hayesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

?This place is a gem for mature RV'ers. It's not far from a lake, assorted restaurants and tourist shopping. The entire park is kept clean and neatly landscaped. Management is friendly, helpful and readily available. Many sites are occupied by park models. All are neat and well kept and most are attractively landscaped. All sites are 50 amp and full hookup. TV cable and Wi-Fi are included but Wi-Fi might not be strong enough to reach all sites. We will be back whenever we’re in the area. We camped at Sundowner RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Rate shown is Passport America and includes taxes. The place is clean and very well kept. The management is friendly and accommodating. TV cable and WiFi are strong. Someone with children might want a playground, but for us this place was just about perfect. We camped at Cross Creek Camp Ground and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.
