Palmetto Island State Park, Abbeville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are spacious and some are secluded. Most are limestone with the exception of 4 handicap sites (those are concrete). All sites have a fire ring. There is a very nice splash pad for the kids and also a bathhouse to change clothes. Like others have posted, the roads inside of the park are gravel but didn't bother us. Comfort stations were very clean and include washers and dryers. The park is in a remote area, but only 10 minutes from the nearest Wal-Mart. Had OK to good AT&T cell service. We camped here last weekend and enjoyed ourselves. We camped at Palmetto Island State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Chicot State Park, Ville Platte, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the South camping area. I was surprised by the work being done to update the sites. Our site had a new service pedestal with 20, 30 and 50 amp service and a night light. Some sites had new decks. There was a crew pulling electrical wires for an upcoming Wi-Fi installation. We camped at Chicot State Park in a Travel Trailer.
