Johnny's RV Resort, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We have spent six weeks here, as we're working in the area, and our rate was based on their monthly rate for 50 amp service. Was pleasantly surprised once we arrived, to find it to be a much nicer park than we expected. The staff has been very accommodating, and yes there are a lot of full time residents. However, none of the units are trashy and their sites are ALL well maintained. The lake is an amazing and wonderful place to walk the dogs everyday. The sites are basically terraced, running down hill toward the lake, but the pad itself is relatively level. We stayed here in a 41 fifth wheel and had adequate room to park our TV and a extra car on our site...and our site was one of the smaller ones. Many of the sites are gigantic! All hookups worked great and we've felt very safe and secure staying here...even though the surrounding area is not the greatest. Would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Johnny's RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's), Lothian, Maryland

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Just spent five LONG weeks in this campground while working in the DC area. Could not take it any longer and moved 30 minutes further south. The electric is pitiful. They actually burned power cords on several neighboring RVs and the power panel on one. Our EMS was constantly cutting our power off to protect our coach and water pressure is non-existent; all the while management blamed the electrical problems on everyone's rigs and accepted no responsibility. And, they had the audacity to raise the monthly rate another $100. Could not get out of there fast enough and will Never go back! The sites are small and nothing but sand and leaves and not worth near what they are charging.Don't care how close to DC they are! Such a shame, could be nice but the owner doesn't have a clue! The $35 nightly rate is based on the almost $1,100 a month they were charging, which included electric. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's) in a Fifth Wheel.

Dunlap RV Camping and Boat Ramp, Rock Island, Tennessee

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great little quiet park with a dozen RV sites on the hill, that gets great cell phone and air card reception. Tents sites down by the boat ramp on the river (no hookups at tent sites). The owners are wonderful people who keep everything nice, neat, and clean (no derelict trailers). Clean bathhouse with small kitchen for use during gatherings in the pavilion. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Great safe place for a long term stay or a quiet weekend of camping, fishing and boating. Playground for the kids. Only drawback is the 1/2 mile gravel road that is fairly hilly...we had no trouble getting in though...would highly recommend! Admin note: Park is seven miles north of McMinnville in Rock Island a non-existent town. We camped at Dunlap RV Camping and Boat Ramp in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandy Beach Resort, Contoocook, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Just spent five nights here and I have to say it was one of the best experiences we have had in quite awhile. As stated earlier, although they have some.sights that will accommodate big rigs (ours is 40'), the access can be challenging. However, the young man who took us to our site was very helpful and patient. In fact, all the staff was wonderful. Once on our site, which overlooked the lake, we had the most pleasant and relaxing time. There are lots of seasonals, but everything about this park was clean and well maintained. We will be back. Rate reflects coast to coast Plus resort and cable fee. We camped at Sandy Beach Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Grandview Ranch RV Park, Unicoi, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

One of the most unique experiences we've ever had RVing! This is a working horse ranch with an adjacent RV park. You have beautiful 360 degree views of the Smokey Mountains. You can back right up to the lake, and watch the horseback riding events, etc. It's wonderful to see all the animals, including a 27 year old horse who roams free and never wanders off, and a family pet named "Miss Piggy", a cute as a button pot-bellied pig. This is a real camping experience and one not to be missed if you're in the Bristol/Johnson City area of eastern Tennessee. The owners were wonderful accommodating hosts...we will be back! Oh, and the cleanest bath house I've ever seen...well worth the money! We camped at Grandview Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
