Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort, Narvon, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

This is a destination park for families and children. Lots for them to do. If looking for a camping spot to tour the countryside and not needing amenities there are better choices. Paved site was very unlevel and small, needed 5 to six inches of blocks to level RV and that puts the door step up to high. No trash pickup, long walk to trash and bath house. Not acceptable for the price of the sites. Would not choose this campground again. We camped at Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was clean with average size sites. Dirt site with concrete patio and table with benches. No problem with 31 ft trailer. Bathhouse clean but showers small. Very convenient to Nashville attractions. Rate is for two people $3 per person additional if over 6. With GS discount still very reasonable for parks in this area. Quiet for a busy park. We would stay here again. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Glen Maury Park, Buena Vista, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

There three sections for camping. Full hookups are available at the top on sites 1-24 with the remainder W&E. Lower sites are along the river. Very scenic. Garbage pick-up each morning. Pool is extra charge. They do not take reservations and are first come basis only. We had no problem getting a full hookup site in mid July. Bath houses are older but clean. You are only 5 miles from Lexington with Washington & Lee and VMI universities. Very scenic and historical towns. We will stay here again. We camped at Glen Maury Park in a Travel Trailer.

Summersville Lake Retreat, Mt. Nebo, West Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We were also surprised that it was not on the lake. Once we read their flyer and checked online we realized it was our mistake. Enjoyed our stay and rented a boat for the day. Their rates for campers is good. The lake is three miles from them. The big item is that there is not a dump station in the campground. Lots are grass with gravel roads. Needed three blocks to level trailer. We have used both the W&E and full hookup sites and both were the same. Great area for site-seeing and the lake is great. We would camp here again. We camped at Summersville Lake Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

River Forks Park, Gainesville, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice quiet county park, We camped here two weekends back to back and will return. Rating is due to no sewer connections. Cell Phone and Air Card worked with good signal. Check-in must be by 7pm. Some sites are 30 amp and some 50 but they ask what you need. Many sites are pull-thru. We camped at River Forks Park in a Travel Trailer.

Golden Isles Vacation Park, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are very narrow and not kept up. Coke bottles used for sewer plugs. An awning may be covering the utilities of the adjoining site. It appears that renovations were started but are either stopped or very slow. The bathhouses were clean. Wireless was available and working. There are a large number of permanent residents in rundown travel trailers living in the park. There are several other parks close by that are much better. We would not return. We camped at Golden Isles Vacation Park in a Travel Trailer.

Destin RV Beach Resort, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. Very clean and well kept. Phone service was not mentioned at check-in. The beach is across the street but is an easy walk. You are issued one beach gate key with a $5 deposit. The deposit is refunded if returned during business hours, if not a stamped self-addressed envelope is required or deposit is forfeited. The design of the sites cause them to be short unless trailer is setup as far back as possible which will cause the patio area to be less useable. You do have to pay in full prior to arriving and it is not refundable, you will get credit for a future stay. With a little more hospitality, things such as trash pickup, dressing area in the baths, this would be a 10 resort. We would stay here again. We camped at Destin RV Beach Resort in a Travel Trailer.
