Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground, Ahmeek, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is located on the shores of Lake Superior and has without a doubt one of the most beautiful and scenic views in the State of Michigan. The campground is clean and well run with the only drawback being no sewers; of course, there is a dump station. A real plus is the free WiFi: somewhat slow at times but overall a surprise in such a remote location. Shore power was good and drinking water was excellent. We stayed 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. Would rate it a 10 but felt I could not do so because of the lack of sewers. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Goshen, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The Elkhart County Fairgrounds is a wonderful stopping place if you're visiting Northern Indiana Amish Country. Very central location for visiting all of the towns and the staff have put together amazing information sheets for shopping, dining and the different locations and RV manufacturers. Everything was clean, very functional park and the staff was wonderful to deal with. Wireless was EXCELLENT (FREE) and it's all open (no trees) so dish and TV antenna reception is very good. I highly recommend using this park if you're in the Goshen/Elkhart area. We camped at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Mills Resort, Howe, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Twin Mills is a heavily treed, family oriented RV park. It seems to have wonderful amenities for family activities and is in the scenic Amish country of Northern Indiana. I would have rated the park a 10 instead of a 7 if only we had been given the correct information about our site. I asked to be placed on an OPEN site so that we would be able to use our DISH and we also were told the Wireless internet worked well throughout the park (both items are very important to us). The park had NO open sites -- although beautiful, it was not what we needed. Also, the first day we were there we were on a site where the Tengo ($15 for 7 days) worked great. On the second day, we moved to a site that would not bring in any wireless, DISH or local TV stations. If these amenities are what you're looking for, I doubt this park would work for you either. We camped at Twin Mills Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty, clean, quiet smaller park with back in and pull thru sites with most sites quite level. All service connections worked well including cable and Wi-Fi. The park is located in the beautiful Montana community of Missoula. Laundry was clean with older equipment - $1.25/wash; $1.00 dry -- didn't use shower rooms. The only negative was the park hostess who can regard customers as the enemy. I called to change to another day (we ended up coming in on the original date) and instead of telling me she would check availability, she informed me that we could not expect to call one day and "expect" to have a site the next as they were quite full. I thought it a rather bizarre management approach to future business. Saying all that, I would stay again at this park because it is a great little park. Hopefully the camp hostess will acquire some customer skills in the meantime. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp on the Heart, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a smaller RV park located on the Heart River. The park is modest, but clean and has a beautiful view due to being close to the river. All services were as advertised and worked well EXCEPT for the Wi-Fi. We were parked just a couple of spaces away from the office but signal was low and spotty -- very frustrating if you're relying on the internet for communication or work related issues. The managers were friendly and worked well with us on any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this park for an overnight or two (has level pull-thrus) but unless your computer connection isn't vital to you, I would not stay longer unless they fix this Wi-Fi issue in the near future. The area has all necessary shopping and gas stations. We camped at Camp on the Heart in a Fifth Wheel.

Gateway Park Campground, Hillsdale, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground and when we stayed there was low attendance due to the season so it was quiet. Lots of seasonal campers but it appears only newer campers are allowed and outside junk is kept to a minimum. Campground was very clean. Wireless was excellent as was the cable. Good water. Cement slaps for RV and patio. Managers very helpful and attentive to the campers requests. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Gateway Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Harbortown RV Resort, Monroe, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Park was very clean and the managers were attentive to the needs of the guests. Would have given it a higher rating but the wireless internet was weak and had hard time connecting. Also for the price you pay, sites are somewhat cramped. Lots of things for kids to do but activities are expensive. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
