Swanzey Lake Camping Area, Swanzey, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park great for tenters or hybrid campers. Our 32ft 5th was too big for most of the roads. The only bathrooms we saw was an outhouse and only one dumpster aat the entrance. We camped at Swanzey Lake Camping Area in a Fifth Wheel.

King Phillip's Campground, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Great place, very friendly/helpful staff and sites were clean and level. A couple of tight turns headed to the wooded sites but nothing unreasonable. We will definitely be back. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place. Rangers are super helpful. Sites are nice and large. Website descriptions are right on. Beach is just a short walk. One warning - there is no dump station. We camped at Aroostook State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is Ok. Great ocean front sites, but they are way overpriced. Especially when there is no sewer, unless you are far away from the water. We will be looking for other island choices. We camped at Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hearthstone Point, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park relatively clean. This park could easily have gotten a better score. However, beach is extremely small and only chest deep. The west side of the park should only be used for tents only. We were assigned a site here site was barely big enough and road ways are too narrow. The east (lake) side seemed much more accommodating and if we stay here again that were we will stay. We camped at Hearthstone Point in a Fifth Wheel.

Gettysburg Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very, very close together. Staff is difficult to interact with. We traveled as a group they "accidently" put someone between us and would not work around the problem. After dark one individual does laps in a golf cart checking on everyone. After dark they drive by slower, blacked out. The only plus is that they are very close to Gettysburg Battlefield. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Wow: clean and very spacious. Everything from small tent sites to large shaded, to open sites with a pad. Staff was able to assist with local attractions. The wives enjoyed the on-site wine bar with complementary afternoon tastings. Lot of activities for kids of all ages and free breakfast every morning. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Prince William Forest RV Campground, Dumfries, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Park is on federal land and run by a private contractor. Seems to be well and clean. Easy access for big rigs. But sites are very unlevel, almost every unit we saw had multiple blocks on one side. The other reason for losing points was that the fire ring had to be rented each night, for an additional charge. We camped at Prince William Forest RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Crozet, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A clean and well-kept campground. Staff is very accommodating and extremely helpful. The park loses points because they tried to squeeze us into a tent spot. Plenty of open and grassy big rig spots. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Acres Of Wildlife Campground, Steep Falls, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place, 3 mile long drit road they are on is a little much. Sites are spacious and they did several upgrades this winter, glad to see money being invested back in. The biggest reason for the 7 is that many of the sites have been regraded with sand. It is very soft and not level, one member of our group needed 4 wheel drive to pull camper out of site. We camped at Acres Of Wildlife Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park. Large sites for campers also had smaller tent sites. Entrance road could use some tree trimming lot of low branches <10 ft. Lots of near-by trails and boating on large lake. We will definitely be back. We camped at Pawtuckaway State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lantern Resort Motel & Campground, Jefferson, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground, it is a little open for our liking but made it great for the small group we were with. Two pools well sized for the campground and very clean. Owners do regular trash pick-up and staff was pleasant. Centrally located to a lot of white mountain attractions. We will be back. We camped at Lantern Resort Motel & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
