Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground), Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night. The site was a pull through (almost all are), there were lots of trees, picnic table was separated from the pull through, there were paths to the bathrooms which were not too far. The bathrooms were clean. Campground was quiet. I would stay here again. We camped at Cottonwood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Butte View Campground, Bowman, North Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is run by the Bowman Parks & Rec Dept. The hosts are very nice, friendly and helpful. The showers and bathrooms are clean, there is a problem trying to adjust the hot water in the showers, but the hosts try to help with that. There are 5 loops, 2 of which this summer are being re-wired, re-plumbed and leveled out. There are some trees, windbreaks and mostly grass. There's a large playground area. Water is available and electricity. They now have wifi and it worked great. It's easy to get around in the campground, pretty open. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butte View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Placid Lake State Park, Seeley Lake, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are pretty large, a little hard to back into some due to large rocks. Lots of trees for shade, bathrooms & showers were clean. There were pit toilets scattered throughout also and it was the cleanest pit toilet I have ever been in! NO smell or flies. Absolutely spotless! I was impressed. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Pretty, quiet campground. I would definitely return. We camped at Placid Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big Sky Camp and RV Park, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The trees shown in pics are at the edge of the tent sites. For the RV's and trailers you park on grass/gravel/dirt in the middle of the campground, sites are very close together, not much grass to be found when we were there. There is one tree at the last site. Bathroom was clean, didn't use the showers, unfortunately to get to the bathroom you had to walk past the owners who sit outside on a covered patio and smoke. You could smell the smoke in the bathroom. They were very friendly but I didn't appreciate the smell. The place was clean but I wouldn't stay here again unless I had to. Not a comfortable place to camp. We camped at Big Sky Camp and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Large, busy campground in town. The sites are close together with grass in between. Wifi works great. Bathroom was clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Price was good. Stayed here twice during August and September. There are some shade trees and some long term campers. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Glacier Campground, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is heavily wooded, sites are somewhat near each other but the woods blocks views and provides lots of privacy. Nice clean bathrooms with clean showers. Also a laundry available, we didn't use it but it looked fine. There are cabins available to rent which looked popular. There was a nice inside lounge with TV, area outside of office with tables, benches, shade, etc. Wifi only worked by the office. There was a casual covered restaurant open 7:45 - 12:45 Wed through Sun. The food was good and coffee great. Very nice, quiet campground. Loved the setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place! About a mile from the Glacier Park entrance, so very handy for visiting the park. My favorite campground on a month-long trip. There's also a handy sewage dump station. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Glacier Distilling (makes whiskey) had a tasting room just a few miles west down highway 2, a fun place and pretty good whiskey. The town of Whitefish isn't too far, it's a cute touristy town with nice shops.

Glacier Mist RV Park, Cut Bank, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is in town, it's mostly full of long term campers/workers. It was quiet and the bath/showers were clean. There wasn't much grass or shade, it looks shabby. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. Might stay again for one night. We camped at Glacier Mist RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada), Banff National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the overflow parking of the trailer campground. This meant you parked your trailer on the side of the top road of the campground. Next to you was the woods, which actually was nice. Everyone just put chairs, etc. in the woods by their camper. The bathroom was just on the other side of the next loop so not far. No electricity of water but it was actually a nice place to camp and quiet. Definitely would camp in overflow again! We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground - Full Hookups (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Actually liked the overflow parking, the RVs, trailers, etc were up on the road and you set your chairs up down in the woods by the side of the road. Bathroom not too far away, quiet, nice. Banff town is touristy and VERY busy. Beautiful area though.

Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at Whistlers campground for 2 nights in August. The site had no electricity or water, a toilet with running water was a short walk away. There was a large playground, walking trails, lots of shade trees. 7 elk came into our campsite and stood eating for 1/2 an hour the first day we were there. Saw quite a few elk at various times in the campground. It was a nice campground, quite a bit of space between sites. I would stay here again. We camped at Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

See Athabasca Falls, beautiful! Jasper is a cute, touristy town, not as large as Banff, good restaurants and shops. Lots of times elk were on the highway going into town.

Mountain Acres Campground, Lewistown, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is right in town. It's pretty open, a few shade trees. Bathroom with shower was large and clean but is the only bathroom so when someone is showering, you need to wait to use the facilities. Laundry looked clean. There isn't always someone available at the office to check-in with, so that can be somewhat annoying but you are able to self check-in and get the key for the bathroom later when someone shows up. The wifi worked great. It's a handy place to camp if you need to be in Lewistown or the surrounding area. It's not an attractive campground, but it's clean and has all the facilities necessary. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort, Sundre, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is at the front of a vacation campground development. It is a "gated" development with the gate locking at night and opening in the morning. There is also an associated golf course immediately adjacent to the campground.

There are sites available for nightly rental at the entrance. The campground is extremely well taken care of. Grass at each site, gravel drives and pads, everything in perfect condition. Clean bathrooms and laundry room. Staff was friendly. They won't accept RV's and trailers more than 10 years old unless they look "nice". We camped at Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Overall Rating:

Very friendly, helpful owners/operators. Shady sites, quiet park. Deer come in the evening and feed on the grass. Very clean laundry, showers and bathrooms. The shower stalls were the smallest I've ever seen, only complaint. We stayed 3 nights. Well kept up campground. We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
