Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was very nice and clean, but the showers and laundry room could use a good cleaning. We stay in the resort section which was very nice: you parked on a concrete pad plus had a large patio. Not sure it was worth $10 a night more. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was good during day, but at night you had a hard time getting on. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park, Springdale, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $39.00

Most of the sites are close together. Gravel sites and rock crusher next door so a lot of dusty. Not sure I would stay here again. One good thing was it was close to shuttle for Zion Park. We camped at Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice clean park with large sites. All are back in. A couple small laundry rooms but are very clean. Cable is great but cannot connect to WIFI. Not sure if most of the people here work or what but as you walk around not many people out and no one very friendly. Close to Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas. We camped at Boulder Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 3 months night rate reflects monthly rate. This park is very clean, sites are level and large. There are winter activities. Great park for overnight stop. Large easy access pull-through site. Wi-Fi was great. Sites are gravel. Road to park is not the greatest but it is only a short distance to park. Staff very friendly. Long term stays were very close together. We camped at Midland RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very clean and well laid out even for big rigs. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Sites are level. The post office and grocery store are within walking distance. The only negatives are low water pressure and a train track close by that is rather busy. They seem to have some kind of activities everyday to keep you busy if you choose. We camped at Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory in a Fifth Wheel.

Davis Mountains State Park, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the best state parks I have stayed in. It even has sewer and cable TV. Sites are mostly level. This time of year it does get a little cool at night. You need to make a reservation. We called a few days ahead and could only stay 2 nights; they were already booked for the rest of the week. We camped at Davis Mountains State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Northlake Village RV Park, Northlake, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Great park if in the Keller/Roanoke area. This is different than most parks as there are no bathrooms or showers. They have now added a small laundry room. Each time we are there the park is improving and working on things. Will definitely stay again in this area. We camped at Northlake Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We asked for a large pull through site so we would not have to unhook. The campground was very nice, but a little pricey for just an overnight stay. It was close to I 10 for easy off and on, but not sure I would stay again because of price. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Fries New River Trail RV Park, Fries, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

You can hide away in this great campground. Most of the sites are by a small spring fed creek. You can sit on your patio and hear the water running. The owner and his wife are very friendly. The park is so clean. The owner is there everyday. The sites are gravel and every time someone leaves the owner rakes and levels the site. Just a short walk across the road is New River. We even had deer walking in the campground. We camped at Fries New River Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Crozet, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Roads are paved, sites gravel and most are level. There is a section at the bottom of the hill that is close to the office that seems nice. There is another section that goes up a long narrow winding road. There are several long term RV in this section and some are very junky. So if you camp here stay in the lower section. Not sure I would camp here again. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.
