Indian Springs Campground, Hickory, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great little campground with owners who want to make your stay a great one. This is the second time that we have been here for an extended stay. It is hidden away in a quite valley but with easy access to Interstate 40 and the city of Hickory. Also just 40 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the mountains. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is overpriced for the area and the offerings. It has a 2 person bath house which is not well kept. Area is beautiful but not a lot to offer if you don't want to fish in a stream or hit golf balls. We camped at Buck Creek Campground (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang in a Motorhome.

Indian Springs Campground, Hickory, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for a week and decided to stay a month. The owners are fantastic. They are experienced RV'ers and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Don't let the hill scare you. As you pass through the gate the hill looks steep but we had no problem with our 42 ft motor home towing a Jeep in or out. Nice hiking trails and river fishing. Level sites and close to city of Hickory or the NC mountains. There is easy access off I-40 exit 119. We will surely stop here again when we visit NC mountains. We camped at Indian Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Gaston Americamps, Bracey, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a campground for RVers. It is a place for folks to leave a camping trailer and visit the lake on weekends. Probably the worst campground for the money that I have ever stayed at. Poor/no cell service with Verizon. No cell service with AT&T. No Cable. Satellite would not work due to trees. Most lots are tied up with perm campers with decks built on them. Next time we'll use one of the public campgrounds in the area We camped at Lake Gaston Americamps in a Motorhome.

Grandview Ranch RV Park, Unicoi, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a hidden gem! We pulled in for a week and stayed for a month. Beautiful mountain views and great staff. The blueberries were ripe and we picked our own. The apple orchard was not yet ready for picking but we enjoyed walking through it. The camp mascot is a pot belly pig named "Miss Piggy" and the campground dog is a little Jack Russell mix called "little man." If you want a different experience in camping try this place: large sites (all with 50 amp) and easy in/out in our 42 ft motorhome. It is about 6 miles off I-26. Park has great hosts! We camped at Grandview Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothell, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very inflexible and un-helpful. I checked in and paid in advance for 6 days. On day 2 I had a family emergency which required me to leave motor home after 5 days. Park refused to allow me to leave motor home unattended and also refused to refund my last day. This caused me to have to find another park for one day where I could store the motor home while I flew to the emergency. I understand the need for policies and practices and their importance but common sense and good judgment in administering the polices is just as important. If you are thinking of staying here I suggest you visit and meet the staff before making any reservations. This may influence your decision. If you must deal by phone, ask some questions and notice the attitude. There are other nice parks in the Seattle area. One other note. My directory showed a price of $40 per night but I was charged $46 plus taxes for a total of $46 plus taxes which came to just over $50 per night. We camped at Lake Pleasant RV Park in a Motorhome.

Jellystone Park at Cobb Mountain, Cobb, California

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Great Staff in a very remote and beautiful location. Deer and other wildlife all around you. DO NOT approach from the southern route with a large rig! Come down from the north. Access through St. Helena should only be done in a small rig. I came in with a 41' diesel towing a SUV but it was tough! Not recommended! We camped at Jellystone Park at Cobb Mountain in a Motorhome.

Shoreline RV Park, Eureka, California

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground at a great location! Cleanest showers and bathroom that I have seen in past year in 38 different states! Staff was very helpful and pleasant! Best for the price that you can find. I have a 41' motor home and a towed car which fit nicely on a paved drive through site with good 50 amp connection and a nice green grass space to step out on! Convenient to highway 101 and diesel fuel next door with a large Tartget store across the street. We camped at Shoreline RV Park in a Motorhome.
