Campground St. Regis, St. Regis, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very neat , clean well maintained rv park near the Interstate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife took pictures of the many pictures of the carved wooden bears around the park. 50 amp W/e on a level gravel site with partial shade at a reasonable rate with wifi that worked ; near perfect for an overnight. We did not use pool , restrooms , etc. There was a little noise from the hwy but we expect that if we want to stay close to internet. I did not use dump station because the turn was to tight for me to make but it was not essential for me to dump. I was here in a 40'MH w/toad. I would stay here again. We camped at Campground St. Regis in a Motorhome.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I called to reserve a 50 amp spot for my 40' RV with toad. They were able to give me the only site available for my size, that was not previously reserved. It was a gravel drive and an overflow site. I had water, sewer and 50 amp electric on a level site with cable tv. There was room enough for other rvs to drive around us with our slides out, so this was just fine with us as we don't put our awning out. The wifi worked until 5 pm and we were never able to stay on after that even at 12am or 9 am. I was thankful that were were able to get a site for the night as it later was completely full. We camped at Indian Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Red Lodge KOA, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: The week end after the 4th of July, I made reservations 2 weeks earlier and was fortunate I could get in. (I tried another RV park first which I preferred, but they were booked.) When I arrived they assigned me to a site that was too short for my RV and toad and only had 30 amp. I noticed that the site next to it was longer and had 50 amp which I had asked for. They switched me with someone that had been assigned to it which turned out to be a 20' trailer that only required 30 amp so it worked for both of us.

Cons: Poor placement of RVs for fitting sites, but they were at least accommodating. When I went to turn on the water, it sprayed all over from the packing not on the hose bib. I went to the office and told the staff member (after she was done texting). I offered to put my y-splitter on the next unoccupied site hose connection, and get out my longer hose to hook us up. Unfortunately when I opened the valve, it also sprayed out the packing nut on the hose bib. Both of them had been tighten as far as was possible, so the person that pulled in later, and I both filled our tanks, shut the valves and used our pumps. I also told the maintenance man about the problem but it was never fixed before I left.

Did I mention there was no sewer at my site. The voltage dropped below 108 and my EMS cut us off to protect our electrical system. It came back up to 109 so we were able to use only one air conditioner again. The next day when many pulled out, the voltage came up to 117. I believe their wiring is old and undersized for the amount of RVs connected. The wifi worked intermittently.

We were not here for the RV park, but to drive and admire the beautiful views of the Beartooth Hwy. We were not disappointed . We spent 3days driving and viewing the scenery. It was magnificent. We camped at Red Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Went to see the pig races 6 miles out of Red Lodge, along with a old deserted coal mine closed after a big disaster that killed many men. Both were unique in their own way.

Grandview Campground & RV Park, Hardin, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time I used this RV park. I called ahead to reserve a spot earlier in the day. I ended up with FHU w/cable and wifi but only 30 amp. The spot was level, gravel with adequate space in the open. It worked out for an overnight as the temps did not get real hot. If it had been hotter I would have searched for a 50 amp site somewhere in the area. This worked out for us mileage wise from Rapid City on US212. I would stay here with temperature and amps as stated earlier. It was far enough off the Interstate that there was no noise problem. We camped at Grandview Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We went to a BBQ restaurant in down town. I don't recall the name but it said BBQ in front window. Ribs were Louisiana style but Texas smoked and good with assorted bbq sauces. My wife had a bison burger which she said was good.

Western Hills Campground, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This rv pk was a good pick after a long day on the road. The staff was friendly. It is a gravel parking lot with fair spacing between sites. It was a long level site with FHUs including wifi that worked good. This is exactly what we look for in a park when we travel, with good roads that are easy to maneuver and the park easy to find, close to the interstate. We were not bothered by the noise and fortunately he wind was dying down. In this part of the country there are no trees to block wind . We were in a 40' mh w/toad and did not unhook. We would stay here again if traveling through. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain Valley RV Resort, Heber City, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Concrete pad with groomed grass patio area, FHUs w/cable and wifi, beautiful mountain scenery, garbage pick up at site, very clean and well manicured landscape. We stayed here one night because it was priced high. We do not need the amenities other than FHUs and wifi but not much else available in the area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. This is a great park if you can afford it. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Ledge RV Park, Kanarraville, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: I love this little rv park. This is the second time that I have stayed here. It is centrally located to several great places to see and close to Cedar City. FHUs, level pull-through gravel sites with trees help protect from wind. Very clean and well kept. Central gas grill, picnic tables and fire pit available for use. Oleasant and helpful owner. Passport America accepted. Cons: Sites are close to each other. 50 amp service was improperly wired at my site so only 30 amp but owner let me plug into an adjoining site and said she would have an electrician fix the issue. Wifi worked but was cut off often. I would stay here again. We camped at Red Ledge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Red Canyon, Cedar Breaks Natl Monument, Kanarra Falls. Even though Cedar Breaks was not open yet (park was snowed in), I went to view point on the edge of park. It is $8 to hike trail to Kanarra Falls but well worth it. It is the most hiked in the river climbing a log to go past 2 of the falls. Some folks may not physically be able to do it but I really enjoyed it.

Lakeside RV and Campground, Provo, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park on the outer edge of city near the lake. The state park nearby was closed due to construction. It is neat and clean with level gravel sites and good HUs and cable. As others stated the sites are side by side HUs with little room between them but grass area on passenger side .We stayed here for 2 weeks while my wife had medical treatments in SLC. We checked other parks closer to SLC but they were either full or much more expensive. We did have to change sites when we extended the second week. We were able to get wifi on site H3 but on G6 other rvs blocked the signal. There is a nice walk area on the other side of the river which is available about a block down the road. Interstate is about a mile away and Provo airport is nearby. Laundry $1.75 wash or dry very clean room. Staff was nice and tried to accommodate. We would stay there again. We camped at Lakeside RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Our third time staying here. Price is at Passport America rate. Level gravel , FHUs , wifi that occasionally worked. Close to interstate so some noise but not bad. Level gravel site in town with FHUs and wifi that worked. Price was with Passport America for one night. We have a 40' MH with toad which we had to park parallel and close to MH. I didn't hear any trains which is unusual for an rv park. We would return. Easy in and out. Finding the entrance coming in is the trick. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Be aware if you are traveling through here during Mardi Gras season that prices are jacked up. We were pleased to get a site as this rv park filled up. Nice rv park close to the interstate but that comes with the noise from it but very convenient while traveling. Friendly staff and was shown to our site. Gravel pull-thru, easy in and out. FHUs with good wifi [Tengo] and cable. I would stop here again but not during Mardi Gras season. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Motorhome.

LeFleurs Bluff State Park, Jackson, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

I was on site 5 which worked well for us as our 40' MH was able to level up easily. Water pressure is very high so used a pressure regulator. The voltage was good, no sewer but a dumpsite on way out.. It rained all night but we stayed high and dry on elevated sight. Some sites near lake had big puddles surrounding their rvs. We did have to unhook our toad to get into the back in site and reconnected near the dumpster. There were a few limbs that needed to be trimmed along loop and in front of dumpster along the road. We managed to dodge these limbs to keep from scratching our rig. We did not use the bathrooms but if anyone is disabled and needs their restroom, this is not the park for you to camp, as the restrooms are on the second level accessible by stairs. These are elevated because when the river floods so does this park. We had a nice view of the lake even though we were not right on the lake. The SP ranger that signed us in was very nice and accommodating. This was our third time here and we would come back. Very handy to the interstate without the noise. We camped at LeFleurs Bluff State Park in a Motorhome.

Benchmark RV Park, Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

I followed directions to the park but turned into a rv park just prior to this one. The other one was in bad shape. I called and was told I was at the wrong rv park and to come down the road another 1/2 mile. This park was nice. Level concrete pad for my 40' mh and 50 amp connection with free wifi. The water was shut off due to low temps. but we were prepared and had water in tank. The nice manager let us know that we could get water inside office and bathroom bld. if needed. The wifi worked in our rig but kept cutting out . This was not a problem for me as it came back on in a few seconds. The manager had warned me that we might have to come to the office area to get reception but it worked for me, just a matter of patience. I definitely would come back here. Good rate. We camped at Benchmark RV Park in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

FHUs were good-elect, water, sewer, wifi , cable. Sites in this park are well laid out , level gravel with grass between and well maintained. Our site was long enough for our 40' MH plus room for our car behind. There was a strong sewer smell the first day were here because the wind direction from the sewer settling ponds and lower end on park. There is expansion going on so much noise from dozer and scraper plus some hwy noise. The park is adding 100 sites so it will be quieter when construction is complete. We would come back if we can stay away from settling ponds. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Close to entrance of Custer SP. We went into park 3 days this time, this is a good time of year to go to park . We went to the Wild Horse Sanctuary near Hot Springs. We did not go to Wind Cave this time but did last time here. We have been in this park before and liked its location . Good pizza place nearby. Diesel prices good at Flying J nearby.
