Point Mallard Park, Decatur, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 nights to visit friends in the area. We have stayed here once before when also visiting friends . We called ahead and when we arrived they gave us a choice of different locations both open pt and bi under trees. We chose under trees which was a mistake for this time of the year because it sounded like we were in a hail storm with the acorns falling. The site was a nice fairly levels graveled spot with good FHUs. There were many stations on broadcast tv but no wifi. The roads were asphalt in good condition and easy to navigate if you followed the maps as some tended to figure 8 so much turning. When we left the park about 4:30 Friday PM to meet our friends there were several sites open but they were full when we returned about 10:30 PM. We would stay here again. We were in a 40' mh with a toad. There are many sites in this park , over 200. We camped at Point Mallard Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

the road we took in rv going into and out of the park was not a problem . We took our car into the center of town (Decatur) and gps took us on a maze of streets through residential areas to reach it. // The park is only about 23 miles from Huntsville also. We attended a very good ranch rodeo Near Hartzel on Saturday , free admittance and free food and very well put on. We are considering returning next year just for it.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice rv park and we have stayed here 3 other times. This is close enough to Columbia where my wife is doing genealogy research but much nicer than a closer rv park. We had a nice fairly level gravel pull through site with some shade. All utilities worked well. This park is well maintained and friendly staff with nice grass between sites. It is very close to the Interstate with easy close on and off. There is some road noise but we were not bothered by it. It has limited cable, and wifi which worked for us most of the time. We would stay here again. We camped at Texas T Campground in a Motorhome.

Grand View Cabins and RV Park, Altamont, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

I can agree with most of what the others have said about this RV park. It is a beautiful setting with a view over many hills and valleys. It is very well maintained with seasonal decorations. I should have asked when I made reservations about the price but I assumed that it would be what was quoted on their website $30. When I arrived I was charged almost $37 per night even after I mentioned the website stated $30. The distance going out there and up the 8% grade up the mountain had me settle for this higher amount. If they want to charge this much they really should advertise it factually. The gravel drives and sites were done nicely but I did have to put 5" of blocking under my front tires to be level. This park is designed for self contained units as it only has a single restroom and shower in the office. This was not a problem for us as we use our own facilities. We had a 40' mh w/ toad. It is 23 miles to Manchester and 26 miles to McMinnville. We camped at Grand View Cabins and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I took a hike to 2 waterfalls near Altamont. Helper Falls was the bigger one. Hike was listed as moderate. It was very rocky with much up and down well marked trails. There is a rock ledge above the falls trail that they have installed a metal spiral stairway about 20-30' down and then wooden stairs to the bottom. The trail from above the falls loops to Broadtree Falls and this part of the trail is much easier.

Bledsoe Creek State Park, Gallatin, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A nice small state park, well maintained and cleaned. We generally use our own bathrooms but our toilet broke so we used the restrooms here and found them to be clean. They were convenient to this site. Deer roam throughout the park and campground. Our back in site #3 (handicap accessible) was fairly level and sufficient for our 40' mh and car. We were far enough away from the next site that their campfire did not bother us. We stayed here because we could not reach COE parks by phone and we could this park. It was also relatively close to Lebanon where we wanted to meet friends. It was easily accessible from US 231 that we were traveling on. We used the dump station and dumpsters near the entrance as we left. We liked the fact that the Tn, state parks don't charge entry fees like many other states do and they had a senior discount for camping. This site could use limbs trimmed. We camped at Bledsoe Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 3rd or 4th time staying here because it is a good place to stop as we travel east and west and is a nice rv park. It is quiet and in the trees close to I-70 but far enough away that the noise is not an issue. The roads and sites are all well maintained gravel and were easy for us to travel in and out. Our site was on top of a small hill and rounded but we were able to level our rig easily . My wife enjoyed walking around the park taking pictures of the carved animals from trees that were taken down. The restrooms and laundry room (although we did not use them) were tastefully and uniquely decorated and very clean Wifi worked for us but broadcast tv was scattered. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground, Blue Springs, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 3rd time here and we have always liked it. It is not far from I-70 and easy to access off I-470. The park is close to many stores and the genealogy library where my wife goes. The turn off for the park is almost hidden and not far off I-470. We were in site 7 which was fairly level for our 40' mh. Water pressure was 90# so we used our regulator. Everything was neat and clean. We would stay here again. No wifi or cable but good broadcast tv. Camp host was nice. The branches over the camp loop road need to be trimmed. We camped at Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

West Rolling Hills - COE, Junction City, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We called to see if there were sites available before coming. We did not make reservations since sites were available. They have some sites that are reservable and some at first come. The park has 2 loops, one 30 amp -B and one 50 amp-A. We stayed in 11 A which is reservable but empty so were told that it was OK for one night. There were sites on the water but we chose a site in the trees because of the wind being strong that day. Our backin site was fairly level spacious and long enough for our 40' mh and car. Good 50 amp , the water pressure was 90# so used a regulator. We were across from the restroom which had an odor because the wind was blowing in our direction but as the weather was cool we stayed inside with windows and vents closed. It was very peaceful. We dumped on the way out near the entrance. We would stay here again. (see tips) We camped at West Rolling Hills - COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not use gps to navigate here. We did and it took us to East Rolling Hills. We had to disconnect our car there in order to back up and turn mh around . Also when we left our site following our stay we had to go to loop to turn around so that we could exit park we had to drive across the grass as the loop was designed for short rvs. Fortunately the ground was dry and solid. The park is 6 miles off I 70 so it worked good for an overnight stop.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park, it is our second time here. They have improved the interior roads since the last time we were here, very nice. Our back in site was wide and long enough for our 40' mh plus room to park our car in front. It has level gravel sites with FHUs with wifi that worked well. It is close to the main hwy but far enough away to be quiet. No camp fires which pleases us. There are pull through sites but back in was all that was left when I made reservations over Labor Day weekend. We would stay here again if in the area. Great view of mountains and right off river. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The 14000' mountains surround this town at 8000' with the Arkansas river running through it. It is great for rafting and kayaking earlier in the summer but we were here at Labor Day when the level was down. There are so many things to see and do around here. There was a huge concert with big name country singers about 3 miles away which we could hear in the park but not a bother.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Except for the cost, I think this was an excellent RV PK. This is the third time we have stayed here. It is close to the interstate, level paved site, FHUs w/ wifi and cable, grass between sites, very neat and well maintained. We did not use pool, their bathrooms or shower. The interior roads were very easy to navigate with our 40' mh w/toad. There is road construction on that exit but there are traffic lights. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Monument RV Resort, Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time that we have stayed here. It is a good driving distance from Salt Lake City and close the the Interstate but far enough away to not get the noise. It makes for a good overnight with FHUs. wifi, cable, pull through gravel site easy in and out and interior roads. There is a nice state park across the street with hook ups but with the extra fee to enter it is comparable to this park and We try to avoid the campfires they tend to have plus more kids and pets running around. We camped at Monument RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Trail Break RV Park, Glenns Ferry, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV Pk for an overnight. It was close to the interstate, level, gravel, pull thru, FHUs, cable and wifi. 23 mph winds but trees and rv nearby gave us some blockage. It was easy in and out but must take a different road when exiting to get to the hwy again, not a problem for us in our 40' mh w/ toad. We would stay here again if passing this way. 2 draw backs: a large dead tree next to our site should be cut down, (my wife was afraid the wind might take it down). The people in the fifth wheel next to us had guests over and sat outside talking until after 2 AM while we were trying to sleep. We did not report them but should have . We camped at Trail Break RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grande Hot Springs Resort (formerly Eagles Hot Lake RV Park), La Grande, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was about 5 miles off of the interstate but after reading reviews of this park vs a park located closer to I84 I decided this was worth the drive. It was a good decision as this park is very nice. It is so neat and clean and the staff here were wo helpful and friendly. Nice level gravel long site w/ grass between that is well cared for with more than enough room for our 40' mh with slides and towed vehicle in the pull through 50 amp w/ good wifi and cable. This park is at the edge of the foothills with a warm water swimming pool and a hot water pool that appeared very clean with nice surroundings. We always use our our bathroom and showers but we looked in on the camps and found them very nice and clean and updated. We would certainly stay he. Campground St. Regis, St. Regis, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very neat , clean well maintained rv park near the Interstate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife took pictures of the many pictures of the carved wooden bears around the park. 50 amp W/e on a level gravel site with partial shade at a reasonable rate with wifi that worked ; near perfect for an overnight. We did not use pool , restrooms , etc. There was a little noise from the hwy but we expect that if we want to stay close to internet. I did not use dump station because the turn was to tight for me to make but it was not essential for me to dump. I was here in a 40'MH w/toad. I would stay here again. Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I called to reserve a 50 amp spot for my 40' RV with toad. They were able to give me the only site available for my size, that was not previously reserved. It was a gravel drive and an overflow site. I had water, sewer and 50 amp electric on a level site with cable tv. There was room enough for other rvs to drive around us with our slides out, so this was just fine with us as we don't put our awning out. The wifi worked until 5 pm and we were never able to stay on after that even at 12am or 9 am. I was thankful that were were able to get a site for the night as it later was completely full. Red Lodge KOA, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: The week end after the 4th of July, I made reservations 2 weeks earlier and was fortunate I could get in. (I tried another RV park first which I preferred, but they were booked.) When I arrived they assigned me to a site that was too short for my RV and toad and only had 30 amp. I noticed that the site next to it was longer and had 50 amp which I had asked for. They switched me with someone that had been assigned to it which turned out to be a 20' trailer that only required 30 amp so it worked for both of us.

Cons: Poor placement of RVs for fitting sites, but they were at least accommodating. When I went to turn on the water, it sprayed all over from the packing not on the hose bib. I went to the office and told the staff member (after she was done texting). I offered to put my y-splitter on the next unoccupied site hose connection, and get out my longer hose to hook us up. Unfortunately when I opened the valve, it also sprayed out the packing nut on the hose bib. Both of them had been tighten as far as was possible, so the person that pulled in later, and I both filled our tanks, shut the valves and used our pumps. I also told the maintenance man about the problem but it was never fixed before I left.

Did I mention there was no sewer at my site. The voltage dropped below 108 and my EMS cut us off to protect our electrical system. It came back up to 109 so we were able to use only one air conditioner again. The next day when many pulled out, the voltage came up to 117. I believe their wiring is old and undersized for the amount of RVs connected. The wifi worked intermittently.

We were not here for the RV park, but to drive and admire the beautiful views of the Beartooth Hwy. We were not disappointed . We spent 3days driving and viewing the scenery. It was magnificent. We camped at Red Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.
