Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Pro: Within 2 miles of Sea World, concrete pads, asphalt roads, wi-fi, and clean pool. Con: Narrow roads, very unlevel pads, filthy bathrooms, and teen-agers working counter…typical corporate owned rv park. You can get a 40’ motorhome in the park but you must unhook before entering park area…definitely not big-rig friendly. I had to back up to make the tight 120 degree turn onto the twelve foot wide road leading to the parking site. Utilities were within ten inches of pad, picnic table was within six inches of the pad, a tree was too close to extend slide awning, and sewer hose ran uphill to drain. You must go to the office to pay $5 per day for wi-fi and to obtain a code for log-on but they don’t tell you that when you check-in. Definitely will not return. We camped at Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stephen F. Austin State Park, San Felipe, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting among large trees with deer roaming the park morning and night. Sites are well laid out and were not a problem for our 40 footer. Park grounds are super maintained without losing any of the feeling of being in the woods. Low power reading (107 volts)and weak breaker at site caused some concern but would not stop us from returning. We camped at Stephen F. Austin State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park with concrete roads & pads. A little tight around corners for big rigs with toad but otherwise nicely laid out. Quality construction in all facilities with high level of maintenance apparent. Wi-Fi is now free. We camped at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in a Motorhome.
