Manzano's RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are friendly and very informative about the area and places to visit! The clubhouse has a clean laundry, exercise room, showers, sitting area and a movie library. The problem we encountered was the narrow, rough road getting into the park and the difficulty getting in and out with our 42' fifth wheel. Quite a struggle! Smaller rigs would be okay. Beautiful, natural setting! We camped at Manzano's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort (formerly Bradshaw Mountain RV Resort), Black Canyon City, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

New owners and a new name! The new name is Black Canyon Ranch RV Park. The pool is sparkling and inviting! The sites are narrow for an RV with slide-outs and the hook-ups had not been used for quite a while and were corroded. With TLC and wider, longer pull-through sites, this will be a good stop-over park. We camped at Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort (formerly Bradshaw Mountain RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Grandview Campground & RV Park, Hardin, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We feel that this is NOT a $34 park. The office had a definite cat litter odor and dogs and cats were running around unleashed. Be sure and ask for your Good Sam discount. We did not get ours. We will not come back to this park. We camped at Grandview Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Gardens RV Park, Odessa, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We were the ONLY campers here! There was no signage or direction as to how to park at the office/cheese store. The sites around the perimeter were permanents in various forms of disarray. The sewer connection was broken and did not have a lid. The 30 amp electric receptor was smoke-blackened from an apparent problem before we arrived. We did not feel safe using the receptor at our site, and therefore, used one from the next site. We will not stay here again. We camped at Country Gardens RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park, Effingham, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The check-in was friendly and efficient with the owner escorting us to our site by walking us there! Nice touch! The park is shaded by mature trees with graveled, level sites. Each site had a firepit and picnic table. We were there only for an overnight and could have stayed longer! We will definitely return! We camped at Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wes Watkins Lake Campground, McLoud, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful! Large, shaded sites with grass in between. Lots of birds! There was only one other RV there, so we really felt like we were in a private woods! Each site has a table and a fire-ring. The downside was the young woman at the gate. She was "new" and didn't have any knowledge of the park, or how to direct us to the RV section, or how to read the site map, or whether or not there were pull-throughs. Luckily with very few people and vehicles there, we were able to drive around and find a site. We would stay here again for an overnight, now that we know where to find the RV section. We camped at Wes Watkins Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Amarillo RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here four years ago and upon returning found that it has really gone downhill! The inside roads were full of potholes and our site was muddy and in need of more gravel. Children were running and shouting as they cut through our site and dogs were off leash with no dog owners in sight! We were disappointed and do not plan to stay here again. We camped at Fort Amarillo RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Auburn Gold Country RV Park, Auburn, California

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This was a former KOA park that now is operating under new owners. The owners are really turning it into a first-rate park! Several upgrades are being worked on, including a stone-covered office building, new landscaping, and new road surfacing. It is a good location for visiting Grass Valley, Loomis, Auburn, Nevada City, Sutter's Mill, and Placerville. We will definitely stay here again next year! It will be a "10" with the new improvements! We camped at Auburn Gold Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverpark RV Resort, Grants Pass, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The best thing about this park is the beautiful location on the Rogue River. The sunsets reflected onto the water are gorgeous! The road and pads are narrow, making it very difficult to maneuver our 36 foot fifth wheel and making us very close to our neighbors' sewers and awnings. Our site held a badly cracked, broken, and uneven concrete pad. The stairs down to the river are broken and missing. The washers and dryers are outdated and had dog hair on the lids and in the lint traps. I feel that this park could be a very nice park with some TLC and improvements. The setting is beautiful! We camped at Riverpark RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake of the Woods Resort, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are under a forest of 200 feet tall pine trees. The sites are arranged in a random, somewhat confusing way, but once you figure out which site is yours and get your rigged parked, you are really in for a beautiful visit. Even with full hook-ups, you are truly camping, complete with a large fire-ring. The restaurant has good food with reasonable prices. The store/marina has everything you would need during your stay. My only complaint is that the store closes at 5:00--way too early. This is a good location while visiting Crater Lake. We camped at Lake of the Woods Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park has large sites and wide roads for easy in and out. The park is extremely family and dog friendly. Not a relaxing, quiet retiree park. The laundry room is large and very clean. One problem encountered was the over-watering the grassy areas between sites, keeping the grass very wet and full of mosquitoes. The park is advertised as "on the water" but only a few sites are actually on the water. We love the town of Coeur d'Alene and this park is the only one near the town, so we would stay here again. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, well maintained RV park with a friendly, fun, efficient staff! Every detail of the park is immaculate. We enjoyed Montana's huckleberry ice cream while sitting around the nightly campfire. Our site was right on the Yellowstone River with an unbeatable view of snow-capped mountains! This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park, Livingston, and Bozeman. We stayed 10 days and plan to spend at least a here month next summer! We camped at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Montpelier Creek KOA, Montpelier, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful park! The sites have gravel pads with lush, green, sculpted grass to landscape each one. Each site has trees, a grill, and a new table. The owners, Stuart and Kathy, and the entire staff (wearing bright yellow shirts) are friendly, welcoming, and fun! The office, restrooms, showers and laundry are sparkling clean! At dusk, we enjoyed an air show put on by hummingbirds doing amazing aerial stunts that would please the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds! We will definitely stay here again! We camped at Montpelier Creek KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Shadows RV Park, Draper, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This should not be named an RV Park. It is mostly "permanents" who are even building additions onto their trailers! The few sites available for overnighters are tight with very narrow roads. The roads are crowded with a lot of extra cars and trucks. We had to ask a neighbor to move her truck when we were ready to leave. We will not stay here again. We camped at Mountain Shadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We really loved this park! The owner made us feel welcomed and at home, immediately. The park was clean, well maintained and our site was an easy pull-through. The office/gift shop/store was well stocked. This is a good location for visiting the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater, Jerome, Oakcreek Canyon, and Sedona. Our only tiny complaint is the red, crushed lava on the sites. It is easily carried into the RV on shoes and is messy in the rain. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the Flagstaff area. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
