Apache Family Campground & Pier, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We come here often and this was the first time this year. Pier is still being worked on after the hurricane last year, but is open and usable. Campground is in great shape and pool, store, etc is all fine. This was the first time we had a front row site and it was awesome, very spacious. Water, electric and sewer were all good and all Beach sites have nice covered picnic table. We camped at Apache Family Campground & Pier in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to eat at Croakers on the pier. They have Great food and reasonably priced. There is a really good produce stand that is within walking distance of the front entrance. There is also a bar called Cool McFinns within walking distance (across from produce stand) that serves great food all day long including Breakfast. Walmart and Tanger Outlet are 3 miles down the road.

Charleston KOA, Ladson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

.This was a typical KOA, staff was very helpful and campground was quiet. We used it as a base for seeing Charleston attractions. Easy in and out with many gas stations and grocery stores and restaurants close by. Power, water, and sewer hookups all good. Park shares an entrance with a mobile home park and backs up to it on one side, but that is no problem at all. We would stay here again. We camped at Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Really enjoyed the Charleston Tea Plantation, and Magnolia Plantation. Downtown Charleston city market is great as well as the Carriage tours of the city. Great food all over Downtown. Good little Latin restaurant right down the street from the campground.

Overall Rating:

Water, electricity, sewer and cable were all great. Park was not at all busy and beach was nice.Store was closed for the season and the indoor heated pool was not open at all while we were there. It would have been nice to know that prior to arrival.Bathouse was open and spotless as always. We always enjoy our stay here, this was our first time in the "off season". We camped at Myrtle Beach Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Park was great, you can choose your site at check in. Very clean and concrete level sites. Nice view at the harbor and great hot tub and pool area. Really nice restaurant on site. Owners and employees were great. Be sure to bring a toad as you are several miles from town. Not easy to turn left onto the main road, depending on time of day to go Hilton Head. Tips for other Campers:

Hilton Head island was very nice and we went there over Christmas for the bike trails. You can ride most of the island,BUT NOT TO THE LIGHTHOUSE. They don't tell you until you get to a guard shack, that the bike trail is on Private property. No admittance on bicycles and no RV of any kind allowed. This includes "B" Vans or Conversion vans. Beach was great and plenty of great restaurants.

Sesquicentennial State Park, Columbia, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice park with lots of room between most sites. Water an Electric was on wrong side or at front of site on many sites. Roads were narrow with Pines on edge of roadway but we had no problems in a 33 ft Class A with Toad attached. Very nice Splash Pad and lake with rentals for canoeing, kayaking , and paddle boarding. Pedal boats also available for rent. No swimming or wading in lake. Great hiking trails that were easy to moderate in length and difficulty. Plenty of food and shopping close by . We camped at Sesquicentennial State Park in a Motorhome.

Green River Lake State Park, Campbellsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We came in for one night and got lucky to get a site. They are usually booked solid months in advance. We stayed in the newer section with trees over close to the store. Water and power were good but sites were very crowded with the amount of stuff that campers bring to this park. No rules about parking or driving on grass or through sites were ever enforced. Store was nicely stocked and the views were beautiful. local Domino pizza delivers to the park. Nice place but overcrowded. Would return in the off season.

Roads were paved and sites were gravel. We camped at Green River Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Park Place RV Park, Flat Rock, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet and easy to get to from interstate. Most sites are pull thru and water, electricity and sewer at each site. Gravel sites and interior roadways. No cable but plenty good OTA channels. They offer an Escapees discount but I didn't know that at the time. Wifi is available but we did not use it.

Great stop over on I-26. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camping World RV Sales of Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This has been our stopover between KY and GA for the last few years. There is no reservations system and the park seems to be full quite frequently now, so don't plan on staying here unless you get in early. Roads are a little tight but sites are fairly level and Water, Electricity, and Sewer are all good. Camping World is right there if you need anything and road noise is minimal. Roads and sites are gravel and access is less than a half mile off the highway. We camped at Camping World RV Sales of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Pelican Nest RV Resort and Campground, Dauphin Island, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground located in the middle of everything. The owners are super nice and the location is great. There is a bike path that you can go from one end of the island to the other on. Water, Electric, and sewer were fine and the private bathrooms with huge showers were very nice. They rent bikes and have air available to pump up bike tires. We will definitely return here. Peach Queen Campground, Jemison, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good overnight spot right off I-65. No real amenities except for the pool which was not open. There was a lake and small playground. Sites were level grass / gravel and water, electric and sewer were all fine. Bathrooms had lights out and several "out of service" signs on some stalls. This is OK but I think overpriced for what you get. Campground would be a good Passport America park at best. We camped at Peach Queen Campground in a Motorhome.
