Geneseo Campground, Geneseo, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that wasn't constructed for big rigs, although there were many on site. The sites are very close together and fairly tight. Several tire ruts and muddy areas after recent rainstorms. We were happy we chose a site on the end of a row. Overall, the park was very quiet and relaxing. Several people staying there were also working in the area. The park will be under new ownership after Labor Day. Hopefully the new owners will expand the gravel areas on some of the sites and roadways to help reduce the ruts/mud. Also, the wi-fi could be updated to expand coverage and speed. Only one device allowed to connect per site without paying extra. We enjoyed the proximity to the Hennepin Canal for biking and kayaking, which was our main purpose for choosing this location. Overall we enjoyed our stay and are planning to go back in the future. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Travel Trailer.

LaSalle / Peru KOA, Utica, Illinois

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Easy check-in and we were escorted to our FHU pull thru site. Park is older and small but well kept. Very clean bathrooms. Friendly hosts and workers. We stayed Fri and Sat nights but were really only there in the evening after supper because our main goals were hiking at the state parks and eating out. Park had a mix of weekend locals and overnight travelers. Sites were very tight in most areas. Park was quiet after 10pm and most campers were very friendly and respectful. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Blackhawk Valley Campground, Rockford, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Large, mostly level sites under huge shade trees. Very attentive and helpful staff (owners) who appear to keep an eye on everything. Lots of space in the middle of the grounds to play, walk pets etc. Will definitely visit again. We camped at Blackhawk Valley Campground in a Tent Trailer.
