Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA, Concrete, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park did not meet criteria of my reservation. Site was not spacious. Overgrown tree branches scraped rear of our motorhome. When we let out slide, it was barely 3 feet from awning in neighboring site. Truck in next site was parked extending to our site. Asked for site near bathhouse since I am handicapped. It was several rows away. Bath and showers were filthy with dirt, pine needles and slippery due to water all over floors. We witnesses dogs off leash, small children unattended running into roads and abuse of alcoholic beverages policy. For these reasons, we shortened our stay and asked for a refund. Management agreed, but, to date, refund has not appeared as a credit on our VISA. Unless a person enjoys RVing in sardine-can situation, I suggest they stay elsewhere. We camped at Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA in a Motorhome.

Icicle River RV Park, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Even though our on-the-river site needed staff assistance for our 32 foot Class C to park, the view under tall trees and next to rushing waters was fantastic. Grounds were immaculately groomed and landscaped. A private shuttle into the town of Leavenworth was available for those who did not tow. Bath and shower rooms were clean and close to the sites. The staff was friendly from check-in to check-out. Would return for another visit without hesitation. We camped at Icicle River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It was a delight to find this oasis in the middle of a dry, dusty mountainous terrain. Sites were spacious, on grass rather than gravel, and required little leveling. Laundry and shower rooms were very clean. Staff were very accommodating. The KOA offered a free shuttle to downtown Winthrop for sightseeing in this western motif town. We camped at Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Trails RV Resort , Anacortes, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It's a pleasure to be able to give a good review to a park. Management was helpful even to the extent of helping guide us into back-in site. Grounds were clean, buildings well maintained. Showers and restrooms were immaculate. Majestic firs, red cedars and other northwest trees gave a special ambiance to the park. Although you felt as if you were in a state park, access to neighboring attractions was easy. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of a second shower facility. It was a long walk downhill to the one in the park. Otherwise no complaints, an enjoyable stay. We camped at Pioneer Trails RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Black Beach Resort, Republic, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a family oriented campground, with tent villages and grouped RVs. Dogs were often on invisible "off leash" despite the rules. The goose droppings problem has not improved from former reviews. Docks were overgrown with grass, rotten, and dangerous to walk on for lack of maintenance. The restrooms and showers were so dirty we did not use them. Electric power was only 20 amps so we had to turn off the AC in order to use the microwave, etc. The only plus for this park was that it was on a lake with a pretty view. We camped at Black Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We choose this campground/RV park for level sites, electric, cable and wi-fi. It had all this, plus very friendly accommodating staff. However, overall, the old dictum "you get what you pay for" is very true in this case. The park with 150 sites was very crowded, only a few sites had shade. There were only 2 bathhouses, one an old quonset type trailer facility which was hot. I opted for no shower. The dog run had grass that was so dry and brittle my dog would not go there. The park's proximty to the interstate and attractions may give it some extra points, but when I went back into this site and read the description of its competition, I wish we had stayed there. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kemp's Kamp, Keystone, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed. Spaces were extremely cramped. Water pressure was low. Toilets in ladies bathroom stopped up on two consecutive nights. Prices high and attitude of owner very condescending, unbending to extenuating circumstances. 1st rule, no refunds under any circumstances. Our site was so small that our front end was about six feet from highway, and rear just about stuck out in driveway. With our slide out, we were 1 foot from the hired help's pickup which was parked next to our site. Campground was narrow and stretched out, so no easy access to pool or laundry. No camp store. Only positives of stay here was easy access to Mt. Rushmore and friendliness of fellow campers. We camped at Kemp's Kamp in a Motorhome.
