Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Indianapolis had a ridiculous amount of rain over the past few weeks before our arrival, but the park accommodated us well. The free WiFi worked great and we enjoyed the amenities such as the dog park. The staff was friendly and did everything possible to ensure a good stay. The breakfast was great! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Cedar Point Resorts / Lighthouse Point Campground, Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Part of the park is decent, part is not. You are here only if you want to go to the amusement park. Fires are not allowed & you may or may not have enough room to get your awning out. There is no camp store. If you have a big rig, watch out for the trees & low-hanging branches. As a campground, this place rates a 1 or 2. Since Cedar Point is within walking distance, I gave it a 3. We camped at Cedar Point Resorts / Lighthouse Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Great stay as usual. We especially appreciated the "bark park" for our lab. There is also a new playground. Wireless internet was free, fast & worked well. The bathrooms were clean. My personal favorite was the new coffee bar in the office. Great place!! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Mohican State Park, Loudonville, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Large park with a lot of hiking trails in the heart of Mohican country. There are no frills as this is a state park. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Considering this place had suffered a tornado one week prior to my arrival, it was in great shape. To my surprise, the WiFi worked great but the gameroom was closed since the storm had torn the roof off the pavilion. Have been here enough times to know this was obviously not normal. They have a huge new dog park which was open and was the best we've seen. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Knightstown, Knightstown, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A so-so park - not as nice as some of the Yogi's I've stayed at in other states. Only a handful of full-hook up sites - lots of seasonals. Dusty entry road. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Knightstown in a Motorhome.

Destin RV Beach Resort, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with an amazingly indifferent staff. They seemed more interested in whether or not our rig was "new enough" than anything else. We apparently passed their test - so they "let" us stay. Nada to do at the campground execept a very small pool. We camped at Destin RV Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Indiana State Fair Campground, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The high fence indicates that you should keep all doors locked, that is if you've survived the drive through the neighborhood to get to the fairgrounds. A very rough part of town. This is not a campground but more like a cross between Katrina and a prison. We camped at Indiana State Fair Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Timberlin (closed), Mansfield, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A lot of seasonals. A very nice lake with a swimming beach and paddle boats. However, the seasonal campers and their unkept, cluttered sites, make it unappealing as a family campground. We camped at Lake Timberlin (closed) in a Motorhome.

The park was private & nice. The beach was a few blocks away - we were under the impression that it was closer. The sites are small, but functional. Not a real friendly staff. We camped at Destin RV Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Ok place for a quick get away from Columbus. Dirty bathrooms as expected at a state park. Space between the sites was a plus. We camped at Alum Creek State Park in a Motorhome.
