F.W. Kent Park, Oxford, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet & restful. 1,082 acres, mostly woods but some small prairies. 4 mile plus road great for biking though 3 mean hills. Nice trails for hiking &/or easy mountain biking. Cross country skiing. Large lake (17acres) for fishing with swim area. Nice walking path around lake. Have stayed here frequently for a local get-a-way. Easy access from I-80 @ Tiffin. Only 4 or 5 miles. Bathroom/shower kept clean. Host very friendly. We camped at F.W. Kent Park in a Motorhome.

All Seasons RV Park, Rozet, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very "rough" park. All rock. No trees. Very "rustic". 3 miles from Interstate, but there is a tavern with a drive through window on way. Owners are putting their hearts into this park, but it could be a struggle. Stayed here overnight. Would try to locate another park. We camped at All Seasons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Al's Oasis Campground, Oacoma, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Right "next" to Interstate so pretty noisy. Area we were in needed work with grass and rock. We stayed 1 night. Should have looked at site and requested a different one, but we were very tired and not going anywhere so stayed put. Doubt we will stay here again. Other services that are a part of Al's Oasis are located across the street. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Very spread out. Friendly staff. We stayed 2 nights. Used a back-in as we used dingy to go to Mt Rushmore. Good location for seeing Mt Rushmore and Geo Mikelson bike trail. We happened to be there during Sturgis Motorcycle Rally week. Not a good choice. Don't come to this area during that event. VROOM! VROOM! Would stay again except during Sturgis week. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Lodge KOA, Red Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Campground needs "refurbishing". Getting old. Our site was out in the open. One of two stools in men's room was slow to flush, though they did have a plunger handy. Sewage dump "bubbled" out the top and would have overflowed if I hadn't shut off my drain. Staff was friendly. 4 miles north of Red Lodge. There is a dump site at the visitor center in Red Lodge. Stayed here due to family reunion. Will not stay there again. We camped at Red Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

A very tight fit. Barely room between our neighbor's slideout and our unit for the picnic table to fit. So close that a camper ran over a picnic table pulling into his site. Be sure you are not put at the south end as it is near a lagoon of some type. Nice pool and hot tub. Miniature golf and "bikes" for kids. Some very nice spots for the Big Boys. Quiet. Breakfast and dinner are ample but overpriced as is the overall cost of staying. Staff friendly and working on keeping this KOA as a "showplace". I will investigate other parks if in this area again, but would stay here if no other good park found. Stayed 5 days due to family wedding and reunion and airline cancellation of family member. We camped at Billings KOA in a Motorhome.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $34.00

Very nice "new" park. Nice pull through sites. Restrooms and showers were very clean. Staff extremely helpful. Though close to the Interstate the noise was not a factor. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Motorhome.

F.W. Kent Park, Oxford, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

A "hidden jewell". Beautiful lake with hiking/biking trail all around. 4+ mile hard surface road (w/3 hills) for "road" bikers. Lots of hiking trails. Fishing w/Iowa license. All sites with plenty of shade. Campground is well maintained and very relaxing. We camped at F.W. Kent Park in a Motorhome.

Wisconsin Riverside Resort, Spring Green, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Tight turns for big rigs with dinghy to get into pull-through sites. Not a lot of shade. Fee is too much for campground atmosphere with resort title. We were there 2 nights while biking Military Ridge Bike Trail (cinder based Rails-to-Trails) located in Dodgeville. Frank Lloyd Wright area. One time visit area. We camped at Wisconsin Riverside Resort in a Motorhome.

Swiss Valley Park, Peosta, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park was devastated by flooding in the Spring of 2011. Only 10 sites were usable when we stayed there. Though their web site stated they were closed, we called and they assured us a site. They should be ready to go almost full steam in 2012. A narrow twisty road to get to park but ti is OK. Some sites were pretty short for a "big rig". Dump site was somewhat difficult to get to. Be sure to dump prior to hooking up to dingy. We stayed 2 nights while biking the Heritage Nature Trail (cinder/crushed rock Rails-to-Trails) located Dyersville to Dubuque, 5 miles away. The Heritage Trail suffered severe flood damage also. Don't try biking on "road" tires. There is small county nature center near park. We camped at Swiss Valley Park in a Motorhome.
