Camp Venice Retreat, Venice, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2010 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 6th year camping at Venice CG. They have added a very good internet connection at a moderate price. These guys do a good job at taking care of camper requests that are reasonable. They also ban campers who create problems for others. This year's long hard rain resulted in flooding some of the sites, and we were told that regarding would be done to eliminate the problem over the off season. This is very much a friendly campground with many of us returning year after year. Dust continues to be a problem (because the roads are not paved) even with frequent watering to keep the dust down. We like the Old Florida ambiance and will most likely return. We camped at Camp Venice Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Lantern Resort Motel & Campground, Jefferson, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

A great family campground with lots of organized activities for kids. The campground is extremely well maintained. It is very near Santa's Village amusement park. Seasonal campers occupy a section of the park, but they are in their own area. We camped at Lantern Resort Motel & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here in April in the rain. The river next to the road to the CG had almost inundated the road. The CG gravel roads were washed out and the site was very tight. Their internet connection wasn't working. Teenagers who could care less were running the office and were not helpful. We will not go back here. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Titusville / Cape Kennedy KOA, Mims, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We found this campground to be one of the poorest maintained ones we've been in. The campground contains a number of seasonals who don't keep their sites up. The person helping me locate the trailer on the site screamed at me for backing up over the corner of the concrete pad which was in poor condition. We camped at Titusville / Cape Kennedy KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Part of this campground where we stayed was ravaged by a hurricane and controlled burn fire that got away from the staff. It looked like a war zone. The portion near the river however, is very nice. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Camp Venice Retreat, Venice, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $4.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here for the last 4 years. The park does have its drawbacks such as poor internet connections and I wish that would be corrected. Drainage is poor during heavy rainstorms and some sites flood. Seasonal rates have gone up each year with no improvements in the campground's conditions. Bathroom/showers are in need up upgrading. The upside is that the campers are very friendly and we have made good friends there. If present patterns continue a lot of us are discussing moving en mass to another campground but I hope that conditions improve enough for that not to happen. We camped at Camp Venice Retreat in a Travel Trailer.
