Harper Lake Campground, Kimmell, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Would rate higher if sites were not grass and there was more gravel on the roads. We were there after the heavy rains of spring 2015. Management was very cooperative and the connecting lakes were great for fishing. They are small enough that skiing would be difficult, but Lake Wawasee is close by county roads.

Lake Wawasee has no private campgrounds so this works well for that. Good family campground. We camped at Harper Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Level concrete pads with standard sites. View of ocean in short distance. A bit out of town, and that can be good. Requires some extra time, but the town area is worth it. Restaurants near by. Good beach walking near by. We camped at Jamaica Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twelve Oaks RV Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Clean. Grass at Sites can be soggy if recent rain as there is limited drainage. They are concrete and good leveling. Not right on the freeway and that is good. Close to restaurants and shopping. We camped at Twelve Oaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, good walking areas, sites may be grass or paved with very little shade unless you request the limited service area. Excellent view of the river and bridge. Staff very helpful. I seldom rate 10, so this rating is deserved. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Clifty Falls State Park, Madison, Indiana

Overall Rating:

The approach to back-in sites is very narrow, requiring precision backing for longer rigs. The gate staff at the campground were not knowledgeable enough to help with problems. We camped at Clifty Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Needed mowing badly. Interstate noise, but okay for sleeping. Gravel sites not level or weeded. This park may be a little bit overpriced, but is in a good location for Indy and Greenfield. We camped at Heartland Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Renfro Valley RV Park, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are short for a big rig. Can't park car and rig with an 38' 5th wheel. Drainage limited. Gravel sites not mowed recently. They have entertainment nearby and a "village" area. Staff friendly and helpful. They were just starting their tourist season. We camped at Renfro Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
