Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort, Volo, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Fish Lake Beach in June of 2005 in a 31' fifth wheel. The sites lacked privacy, but I have seen much smaller elsewhere. This place is huge, but most is seasonal. If they tell you to walk to the office/store, make sure you have good shoes on! The employees I spoke with grew up as seasonals at Fish Lake Beach, and they seemed to take pride in their work. If campground staff was doing security or quiet hour rounds, they were doing it discreetly. I was unsure how safe our belongings were, so everything got locked up at night. If I fished, I would definitely come back to this one. We camped at Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We traveled here in a 31' fifth wheel in June of 2005. The facility was nice and clean, the employees were very friendly, but the sites were painfully small. This place is receiving updates under new ownership. Hopefully they cut the number of sites in half so people aren't parked awning-to-slideout. We enjoyed the local attractions so we didn't take advantage of daytime activities at the campground. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Millbrook, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We went in June of 2005 in a 31 foot fifth wheel. We almost passed this one up after reading and hearing bad reviews. I'm glad we went! Our days were filled with activities for the kids. From cartoons in the morning to a movie at night, there was always something to do. As a previous reviewer noted, the pools were a strange shade of green, but we survived. The employees were friendly and energetic, the campground owner was always around. My only complaint was the price, if it wasn't so darn expensive, we would be back again next weekend. We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
