Poe's Southfork Campground, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, basic campground on the bank of the Shenandoah river. There are a few sites that will accommodate RVs over 40 feet. We use a Dish Tailgater and had no problem finding two satellites. (Roof mounted satellite probably would not work.) We would definitely stay again. We camped at Poe's Southfork Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is one of the most affordable campgrounds in the area. Walmart Supercenter, Target and other stores within 2 miles. Very easy in and out gas station near entrance to park. Large, nice casino in Charlestown, WVA is less than an hour's drive away.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here several times when coming to San Antonio for doctors, dentist, etc. New office building includes showers and a new laundry. My wife rates the laundry excellent. During our stay, the park implemented a new wifi system that is excellent most of the time. As with any park system, bandwidth is a limiting factor - the more users the slower it goes. On weekdays and early morning weekends, speed is between DSL and cable modem. Evenings after 5pm and midday weekends speed is significantly slower. The only drawback to the park is the 3/8ths mile long, dusty dirt road driveway coming in. Aside from that one drawback, this park is a 10. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hidden Valley RV Park, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects monthly rate. We've stayed several times. Very quiet park. We started in site 1 but had to move after a flash flood which came up during the night. No flash flood watch, no severe rain watch or warning. Total surprise. We lost our car (insurance covered it.) Managers went out of their way to help us, including letting us borrow their car until we got a rental. Definitely will stay again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flatonia RV Ranch, Flatonia, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stop at this park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They accommodated our need to stay past the normal checkout time by a couple of hours and at no extra cost. We arrived late (after 5:30pm) on a Saturday evening and one of the owners immediately came to check us in. We'll definitely stop here again! We camped at Flatonia RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Lake Cumberland RV Park, Bronston, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The price increase of $50 (to $210) per week makes this park a much less favorable place to stay. We've stayed here many times in the past. There are several other parks in the area much less expensive. I was disappointed at the number of very loud motorcycles here this time. Park seems to be moving towards more long-term residents. No trees so excellent satellite reception. We camped at Lake Cumberland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

I chose this park mainly for the WiFi access to check my e-mail. WiFi was horribly slow ... slower than dial up. There was a warning about band width reductions for excessive usage. Apparently, just signing on is excessive! Never could check e-mail because system was just too slow. The dog run, on the other hand, is outstanding. Our "Buddy" enjoyed it very much. I would not stay here again. Typical KOA campground. I chose this park mainly for the WiFi access to check my e-mail. WiFi was horribly slow. The dog run, on the other hand, is outstanding. Green Valley Campground, East Montpelier, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park is next to US Route 2. Road noise was pretty bad during the day but mostly ended by 6 pm. Bart, the park manager, gave us excellent service - above and beyond the call of duty! Our toad had a bad wheel bearing and Bart followed me to the repair shop (Bill's Auto Repairs) and took me back to the park - a distance of some 25 miles. The shop owner came out the park to pick me up and take me back to the shop to pick up my car. The people of Vermont exemplify the meaning of "Southern hospitality". Friendly and helpful to the point of making you feel like family. We camped at Green Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Yesterdays RV Park, Oswego, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park. Three miles to Lake Ontario. Level sites, some open (satellite friendly) and some shaded. 4 cabins available as well as tent spaces. Lots are spacious compared to other parks in the area. Spaces could easily accommodate 45 foot rigs. Park was neglected for some time due to family health issues but management is busily getting it back into shape. No playground, but plenty of room for kids to run and roam. Beautiful covered pavilion. This park is now my preferred place to stay while visiting family in area. We camped at Yesterdays RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park, Kinder, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

World class RV park. Site was paved and level. Nice lake on property. Fishing allowed without a Louisiana fishing license. Shuttle bus every 20 minutes or so to the casino. Office staff very friendly. NOTE: Avoid the buffet in the casino! Food quality and selection is adequate but not worth the $12 per person for lunch. Buffet line staff were too busy talking with each other to pay attention to their customers. There was no beef on the line - other than an imitation Salisbury steak (tasted more like meatloaf.) The lady working the carving station was the slowest moving person I've ever seen. Her attitude was surly, at best. The buffet compares favorably with most $6 a person buffets. No value at $12. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Houston East RV Resort, Baytown, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I would not suggest this park for rigs over 38 feet towing cars. Turns are very tight due to cars and trucks parked on edges of streets. Sites are narrow and barely 60 feet long. Many trees and few satellite friendly spaces. Many sites occupied by long-term residents (based on the amount of personal stuff piled all around). Park was clean and recently mowed. Would probably stay here again. We camped at Houston East RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bay Berry RV Park, Gulfport, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Not worth the money. The park is an okay place to spend the night. Asked for a satellite friendly site and was assigned a space directly under a large tree. Had to exit the park and come back in to get to a new site. Park has several fire ant mounds close to sites. Use caution when connecting utilities! All sites have level concrete pads. Many, many signs warning to not drive or park on grass. We camped at Bay Berry RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lighthouse Beach RV Park, Port Lavaca, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is a city-owned park. Does not take credit cards or make reservations. Cash or checks only. We paid by check which was accepted with no problem. We stayed seven days, full hookups, 50 amp service for $116. The park was in excellent shape, clean, very well-maintained, paved parking slab with a patio and picnic table. The park is actually part of the bird sanctuary. The Wi-Fi was outstanding - just as fast as my cable modem at home. There is a raised, wooden, half mile walkway over the marsh. There is a bird watching gazebo about halfway around the walkway as well as a fishing pier into the bay. Park management was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay here again! We camped at Lighthouse Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Berryville RV Park, Berryville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

They are very friendly people. The park is very clean. I will definitely stay here again. It offers monthly rates at $350. Pull-through lots were very level and spacious. My rig with toad hooked up is 60 feet long and there was still room to park a car in front of the motor home. We camped at Berryville RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel, Lamar, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $30.00

Love the free ice cream sandwich when you register! This park was a one night stay for us on our way home. The owner was quite friendly and the park was clean and neat. Flies were bad, but not uncommon for this part of Colorado in the summer. Near the pool is a covered picnic area with water misters that helped keep the area a little cooler. We camped at Lamar Sportsman's RV Center and Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this campground because of its central location to many attractions in this part of South Dakota and its $147 cost for a week stay. Has very friendly personnel. The campground store had a very limited selection of items and groceries. Nearest Wal-Mart is in Rapid City, about 30 miles north. Laundry, bathrooms and showers were spacious and very clean every day. The only drawback was a lack of shade trees. We plan to stay here again next year. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.
