Campground is located in a National Forest, but is only minutes from I-95 and is only 18 miles from the Capital Beltway around DC. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very quite and extremely clean. Will stay here every time I am in area.

Wildwood Campground is one of the best I found in Virginia and makes you question just how Trailer Life does their ratings. Almost all of the sites are shaded and well maintained. This campground is one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and has easy entry and exit. Campground was very quite with pool and playground near the front, next to office. Kids loved the fishing pond. Owner lives on site and is friendly and helpful. I will stay here again when I am traveling I-81 or the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Park is some distance from Newburgh on narrow back roads. Usual KOA problem with not having the type of site requested, even though they had charged deposit for it weeks earlier. After complaining to manager, they decided they did have a pull through site, but said this would just cause a trickle down problem and someone else would not get the type of site they had requested. At the time reservation was made, there was no disclaimer as to reservations not guaranteeing a site. I do not understand why they have a reservation system if it does not reserve a site. You will need a water filter, unless you get site with premium water. Park is very nice although sites are very tight. Nice area for kids. Will not stay here again unless desperate.
