Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, well kept park. Concrete parking pads. No grass next to camp spots. But nice grass common areas. And decent dog run.

If you like KOA style camping, but at a cheaper price stay here. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Northlake RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean and well kept park. There are several permanent residents, but they are required to keep their area clean. They have a nice man-made lake in the middle of the property. You can't walk you dog around it (camp rules), but they do have fenced in dog walk areas for your pooch. There is a train the goes by and blows its horn. It's not super loud. I don't remember getting woke up in the night by it, but I did hear it when awake. We would stay here again. We camped at Northlake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeview RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here two year in a row for Thanksgiving.. They have an excellent Thanksgiving pot-luck. The management makes the turkey and the guest bring all the "fixin's". This is a clean and well kept park. There are several permanent residents, but they are required to keep their area clean. They have a nice man-made lake in the middle of the property. You can't walk you dog around it (camp rules), but they do have two fenced in dog walk areas for your pooch. The area around the park is a bit dodgy, but the park is fenced and gated with a gate code. We have not had any issues. We would stay here again. We camped at Lakeview RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Amarillo KOA, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Typical KOA campground. Very clean and easy to maneuver RV around. We drove in from from Dallas at about 9 pm. Late check in was easy - even without a reservation. Check-in paper work only has one code for Wi-Fi. If you need to get two computers or iPads on the internet you will have to get another code from the office. We didn't stay the whole night because of the train. By 5am the wife and I were tired of being woke up by the blowing train horn. It sounds like it is right by the campground, but it is actually across on the other side of I-40. It is very loud; especially, if you aren't used to train horns. We wouldn't stay here again. Need a quieter place. We camped at Amarillo KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Purtis Creek State Park, Eustace, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park has gigantic campsites with picnic table, fire pit, and level tent area. All sites have mature trees with ample shade. There were paddle boat and canoe rentals, walking trails that lead to the lake and fishing pier. We enjoyed seeing numerous deer, raccoons, armadillo, squirrels, and vultures. We did choose a campsite that seemed to have all the ants. There is a walk in beach area to swim but the water smelled odd. Over all it was a great experience and we would return. We camped at Purtis Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Breeze Hotel & RV Park, Freeport, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park is a great place to just sit and relax and enjoy the gulf breeze. With or without kids your family will love this atmosphere. The RV park is on the beach, and everything is clean and well kept. If you want the closest site to the beach, request site 1 when making a reservation. All sites are great in this small park. They also have a cute little six room hotel for other family without a trailer. We will definitely be back. We camped at The Breeze Hotel & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeridge RV Park, Gun Barrel City, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park is right in the heart of Gun Barrel City. Wal-Mart and several restaurants are less than a mile away. The park is very clean and well kept, although no shade trees are available. They have a small fishing pond that the kids might enjoy. If you need a place to stay "in" Gun Barrel City this place will suit your needs. We camped at Lakeridge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
