Great view of river! Sites are reasonably level gravel, with roads being paved. Extension cords may be needed due to the location of the utilities. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Wilkins Historic State Park, Copper Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Awesome camping atmosphere! Was a bit crowded on the weekend but still fairly quiet. Paved roads. Some sites are suited to tents and are listed on the reservation site as unlevel. RV sites of various sizes, and are fairly level. The historic nature of the park has lots to offer as well. Great job by the state of Michigan! We camped at Fort Wilkins Historic State Park in a Motorhome.

Red River State Recreation Campground, East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting park built in an old residential neighborhood, so there's a lot of history. Widely spaced gravel sites with paved roads. Unfortunately, the age of the trees makes them susceptible to storm damage. Fortunately no injuries from falling trees in a severe storm while we were there. Would be nice to see an investment in new trees for the future. Easy walking distance to restaurants and the downtown area. No wifi, except apparently at the bathhouse. We camped at Red River State Recreation Campground in a Motorhome.

Burlington Bay Campground, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $39.00

Doesn't get any better than the views from many of the sites! Friendly staff. It is a popular location and is therefore very crowded but the sites are all reasonably large. We camped at Burlington Bay Campground in a Motorhome.

Minneapolis Southwest KOA, Jordan, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very pleasant staff, both in office and throughout the grounds. Close to Minneapolis, and really has as many sites packed into the acreage as possible. The sites are a bit close, but the location served our needs for the short stay. Overall a pleasant experience. We camped at Minneapolis Southwest KOA in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres RV Park, Center Point, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptionally cleans and neatly kept grounds. Sites are level pull through's sized for today's RVs. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of things for the kids to do. You do hear some highway noise but it isn't bad. Only thing lacking is shade but that will come with time. We camped at Lazy Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pine Cove Beach Resort, Charleroi, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night while helping our son move into his college apartment. The owners met us at the gate for check-in and were very efficient and friendly. They also operate a public swimming pool/water park. They seem to take pride in their business and are very hands-on. The sites are not overly scenic but are arranged neatly and are reasonably level. The utilities worked well; we did not try the cable. They look to have heated water lines for extended season use. The campground was full but very quiet on the Saturday night that we were there. We will probably return as it is conveniently located for our needs. It is also easy to access for travelers passing through on I-70. We camped at Pine Cove Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Laurel Hill State Park, Somerset, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, spacious site. Electric hookup was conveniently placed and the site was reasonably level. Easy access to fresh water and dump station near main gate. The loop road was paved which allows safe biking for the kids. Not very big rig friendly but great for small to medium sized rigs. Nice park! We camped at Laurel Hill State Park in a Motorhome.

Washington DC / Capitol KOA, Millersville, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is in a great location for visiting the Baltimore/Washington area. It is a great environment shielded from the traffic and congestion. The ownership and staff seem to genuinely care about doing a good job and maintaining the facilities. The sites in the woods are very nice but could use a bit more stone to improve the level for RVs. We did fit our 34' rig into a site in the woods with little difficulty. We camped at Washington DC / Capitol KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Efficient online reservation system. This park offers a lot for the money. It is easy to access from the highway but sheltered from the noise. The sites are very wide and long enough for today's RVs. Vegetation is trimmed back to allow easy access, yet the sites are shaded. Very friendly and helpful hosts. All utilities are up to date. Did not try the wifi but Verizon aircard worked fine. Shopping and eateries are nearby. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dakota Campgrounds, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient location, friendly, conscientious owner. Seems to be dedicated to improving the property after purchasing about two years ago. Pool looked nice but we did not use. Owner helped pick site to fit us in best and assisted with parking. Area is suffering through terrible drought so that affected the look of the place, but access road was oiled to control dust. Had 50 amp site which was good for a 108 degree afternoon! Good for a stopover to see the Corn Palace, Cabela's, etc. We camped at Dakota Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Red River State Recreation Campground, East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park to use as a base to visit the Grand Forks area. Walking distance to downtown of cities on both sides of the river. Close to restaurants, movies, Cabela's, Saturday morning farmers market, and more. Lots of old trees and open areas, most sites pull through. Campground was created out of an old neighborhood and the existing streets were used to layout this spacious campground. We camped at Red River State Recreation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Hawk Park, Cedar Falls, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the highway but no road noise. Occasional train noise from a distance. Fairly level sites with 50 amp, water, and sewer. Not all sites have full hookups and are those are not identified. You have to look. Nice, quiet park for a night or a week. We camped at Black Hawk Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mercer / Grove City KOA, Mercer, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Somewhat challenging road in, but there are actually several options, which are detailed on the site map given at check-in. Lots of recent improvements and the best Wi-Fi we've found in a month of camping. Long level pull-throughs for easy in and out. Very pleasant atmosphere and caring staff. Would stay there again for a night or more. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Shipshewana Campground North Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park, despite being close to an intersection. Very few people around on a weekday, as they all flock to the nearby flea market. Evenings are quiet as well. Large ornamental trees shield one site from another. There is a fee for Wi-Fi. Convenient to the nearby RV factories. We camped at Shipshewana Campground North Park in a Fifth Wheel.
