Ela Campground & Country Store, Bryson City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

From the time I called to make a reservation, I could tell by the woman's voice that this was where I wanted to be. It is a laid back, country campground with a family atmosphere. It is not the newest, does not have a great view of the mountains, and yes some of the sites were a little muddy due to the rain they had the night before, but when we asked to move the lady was very apologetic and allowed us to change sites with no problem. We enjoyed tubing for 5 bucks a tube, we swam in the pool, the kids played on their little playground and in the game room, they enjoyed the basketball goal, they had an ice cream social for the children, karaoke for the grown ups, and everyone was very pleasant and kind. They treat you like family and my children cried when it was time to go. We really appreciate the chance to get away from it all and not be nickle and dimed like the big fancy campgrounds can do. So if you are not looking for the biggest, fanciest place to camp in the mountains, just want to go camping, then this is the place. We camped at Ela Campground & Country Store in a Tent.
