Green Lake RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The rate is based off of a monthly rate. This park is the nicest in the SA area. Like all have said, the restrooms, pool, hot tub are all maintained perfectly. The managers are hands-on and awesome. They care about the park like it was their own. BBQ grills and the like are cleaned daily. Weekly rates are way over priced. As previously mentioned, there are many oil field workers and many have nice rigs, but way too much "stuff" around their rig. Lots of working equipment and construction trailers. Parking in the streets. Seems that the manager tolerate it and I believe will get out of control if not curtailed and be like every other trailer parks in the area. WiFi worked OK, nothing special. Again, this is clearly the best RV park in SA. We camped at Green Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

On the corner there is a Mexican Restaurant El Tapitia that has good San Antonio style Tex-Mex. Very reasonable and tasty. Lots of shopping and chain restaurants on Loop 13 (SE Military Hwy) about 5 miles away off I-37 going north.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Not much positive to say. The person that gave this park a 9 must of been mixed up with another park. Man that checked us in was rude and gruff. Pool closed, WiFi was practically non existent. Bathroom/showers very old. Electrical pedestal sockets were broken/worn - it was scary. Overpriced. Only good thing to say was gravel site was level. Wouldn't stay here again. Find a spot on the side of the road first. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon Trail RV Park, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night, really enjoyed this park. New pool and hot tub were both sparkling clean. The hot tub was only luke warm, but the ambient temp was 102*F. Cable, WiFi and other utilities were great. Bathrooms and showers were remodeled and super nice. The couple who checked us in were very nice and glad we stayed with them. The site was small pee gravel which was OK, but not level. I give this nice park a low 9 rating. Only one dumpster location by office. Park is big enough to need at least 3 or 4. We would stay there again. We camped at Canyon Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rancheria RV Park, Hat Creek, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very Rustic. Pull Thru dirt site was very unlevel. WiFi didn't work. No cell service. Electric and water were fine. Lady at check in very nice but that's where it stops. Long pine needles got on everything. Park looks decent from the road and signage on road was good. Overpriced for the price. Won't be staying here again. We camped at Rancheria RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Jeb and Margret's Trailer Haven, Hope, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This area of Idaho is absolutely beautiful and Lake Ponderay is super also. The folks in this park are very nice and friendly, but that is where it ends. The park is so outdated (55 years old) and lacks the basics that a RV park should have. Site was not level and very close to your neighbor. The electricity was absolutely terrible. 30A service would not hold 100 volts when we had nothing on when demand was high in the park. My surge protector would drop the electric @ 102 volts (to protect the appliances). Don't think of even running anything...much less an A/C. Temps were unusual hot 95*F+ on many days. The maintenance man said sorry the park is old and the wiring outdated. All this and more for $40. a night. WiFi was $5. a day. In looking back, I should have boondocked at Wal-Mart and then go to the lake. Wouldn't even think of staying there again. We camped at Jeb and Margret's Trailer Haven in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Hoot Owl for a great breakfast in Ponderay. Huge portions. Good Mexican at Jalapeno's in Sandpoint. Joe's Sandwich Shop in Sand Point on Church St. Great Philly cheese sandwiches, Super fresh, never frozen hamburgers. Decent prices. Ice House Pizza in Hope was pretty good. Very nice evening meal in Hope at the Floating Restaurant. High end/pricey.....but excellent food! Fish dishes were unbelievably super.

Alamo Fiesta RV Resort, Boerne, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is based on monthly. As many have said, this is an older park. While the park itself isn't anything outstanding, the staff and manager are! These folks work hard to do what they can for you. Go way beyond the call of duty to exceed your expectations. We've looked around the area and there are no parks any better than this. Boerne is a great little town. We will stay here again. We camped at Alamo Fiesta RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Casa Grande RV Resort , Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park for the price. Like some folks have said, the site is loose gravel making it hard to walk on. Our site was not too level. Had to shim wheels. The great side to this park is the price (off season). The pool and hot tub were clean and hot. Very nice and open 24 hrs. The restrooms were spotless, modern and large. Handicap shower too. The library/book exchange is large and awesome. WiFi was solid and fast at N/C. No cable but the over the air antenna stations were good. Verizon MiFi worked fine here at 4G. We would stay here again for overnight, but not spend a winter. We camped at Casa Grande RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Cove RV Resort (formerly Riviera RV Resort and Marina), Blythe, California

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Good Sam rate. Nice friendly check-in. Led to site. Grass site not level, but was an easy adjustment with wheel shims. 50 amp didn't work so used the site's pedestal next to me to hook up, as it was over 100*F. Wi-Fi was strong and solid. Exiting was confusing as there was no signage and they have tire spike strips that aren't functional. You actually drive over them to exit! We felt a bit pricey for the age and overall looks of the park. Doubtful we would stay again, but maybe. We camped at The Cove RV Resort (formerly Riviera RV Resort and Marina) in a Fifth Wheel.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice resort park. Great bar and grill on premises. The only thing that kept me from giving a 10 was the site was small-tight gravel and I had to shim tires to level. Didn't use cable as we were only staying overnight and there were a zillion channels on our roof antenna. Well worth the $40. I will stay here again. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Portland Fairview RV Park, Fairview, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older park that's nicely maintained. The folks are always nice and treat us well. Rules are enforced so all can have a good and safe time. WiFi was strong and solid. Cable TV is dated and many channels are fuzzy. Many activities make it a lot of fun in this park. Make sure to get a activities when you check in. The activities director and park hosts are exceptionally nice and helpful. Thanks! We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Little Creek Casino and Resort, Shelton, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

As many have testified this park is clean and well maintained. Restrooms are spotless and very nice. Water pressure was a little low for me (40 psi) but OK. All other utilities were good. Wi-Fi was showing strong signal but it would drop out and comeback fairly quick. Sometimes it would also run slow. Site fee does increase $10 on the weekend. We will return when we're the area. We camped at Little Creek Casino and Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Timber Valley SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only), Sutherlin, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice SKP park. The most impressive thing are the sites. Almost all are 55 X 70 BI or PT. Friendly folks. Utilities were good, but water pressure low at 40psi. $1.95 a gallon propane. Cable TV was out, but was being worked on. Decent and fun activities. WiFi near the Clubhouse was strong, reasonably fast and solid. I was planning to stay overnight....and ended up staying 3 days. We camped at Timber Valley SKP Park - Escapees Park (members only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino), Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Posted is Good Sam rate. We've stayed at this park about 6 times over last 3 years. I really believe the park is overrated. The sites are not level. Sewer is at the very rear of the sites. Utilities are good. The park Wi-Fi has never worked at our sites on our stays (they do have Wi-Fi in the office). The only reason we stay here is it's the only half decent park in this area. We drove by a nice looking park in Sparks across town and it looks like a nice alternative. Just saying that when reviewing this park don't come here and expect 8 or 9 level performance. We camped at Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino) in a Fifth Wheel.

Highlands RV Park, Bishop, California

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is Good Sam rate. I had to wait to post this as I would have given it a 3 if I hadn't. Office was closed at 4:45PM and the door said 8-5. Did late arrival check in. Site pads are super narrow asphalt that need to be redone. Site not level front to rear or side to side. WiFi very weak and dropped out. Restrooms were moderately clean but old and stained. Cable TV was lacking channels and mostly informercials. Wayover priced for what you get. Office staff was very nice the next morning. Utilities OK. No T-Mobile cell service. Shoulda stayed at Von's parking lot. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elks Lodge #2498, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

To add what has already has been said, this Elks has now added four 50 amp plugs. So there are now two 30 amp sites and four 50 amp. There is a cable TV connection with splitter on the outside wall of the lodge. Stations are a little fuzzy, but not bad. I also was able to bridge to the lodge's Wi-Fi with the my Pepwave booster antenna. With that set up, Wi-Fi was strong and solid. In a decent neighborhood with no security concerns and a good view parked here on the hill. Lodge offers meals on Tuesday and Friday nights reasonably priced. The site is not bad at all for $15 a night! Shell Service station nearby which is across from Walmart has RV/truck fuel lanes, propane, car/RV coin operated car wash and free RV dump at car wash. I like this town! We camped at Elks Lodge #2498 in a Fifth Wheel.
