Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort, Empire, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the RV Resort which has higher rates then the regular camping sites. Park was will maintained and clean, with very friendly staff. The roads where paved with two way traffic. The park staff will direct you to your site and assist in backing into your site. The resort employees will pick up trash if placed out before 10:00 AM at the curb. All of the sites in the RV resort side have sprinklers that are operated early in the morning hours. The first day we woke up to the sprinklers washing one side of our trailer, thought it was raining at first. We will definitely go back to this camp ground. Even though the fees seem high this park has way more to offer compared to what another park cost us in July with our two grand daughters. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We traveled to Sleeping Bear Dunes in Empire for hiking and site seeing. Shopping and dining out can be done at a lot of small villages along M22 such as Glen Arbor, Leland and Traverse City. If using GPS the GPS may take you past the park entrance as my GPS did twice.

O'Connell's Yogi Bear Jellystone Park, Amboy, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Site was on a pull thru on grass that looked like it could be baled for hay. Maintenance was not the best. Staff was friendly and somewhat helpful. My wife pointed out that one of the teetertotters was broken at the play ground across from us, one of the springs was not secured to the ground. The staff used some old rope to rope off this device, needless to say this did not stop some older kids from trying the teetertotter. A smaller child could get hurt on this teetertotter if he/she was trying to use it. No fire ring was provided just a burn scar for you to use to have campfire. Way too many golf carts and not very will monitored, driving way to fast over the posted 5 MPH speed limit. In fact we saw a golf cart rollover due to the speed that the cart owner was doing trying to make a turn at one of the pools. One of the passengers in the golf cart was slight injured, staff did show up and administered first aid to her. The only reason went to this park was for our granddaughters who wanted to see Yogi, Bubba and Cindy bear. We camped at O'Connell's Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We had a gravel pull thru site close to the pool and bath house. Site was narrow and slightly uneven. No Cable TV was available just OTA over your own Satelight system. Camp ground host were freindly and kept chickens at the park. The chickens had free range of the campground. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a pull thru full hook-up site with 50 AMPS. The site was wide, level and long enough for our needs. This campground was purchased by new owners since we where there last and a lot of improvements have been made to the campground. Fox Hill RV Park & Campground, Baraboo, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Sites are vary narrow but level. On the weekend most sites were full and tents for an extra charge (I think) could be placed on your site. We had a premium site with 50AMPS and full hook-ups. To me a premium site should be paved or cement pad not a gravel bed. We camped at Fox Hill RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

WI Dells for one thing with all of the kids adventure items to do. In Blue Mound WI there is the Cave of the Mounds to explore for a fee. There is also Devils Lake State Park in Baraboo WI, a fee is required to enter. One thing I found intresting at Devils Lake State Park is they do accept the national Senior Pass for federal parks so, my vechicle was able to enter for free.

Lake Osprey RV Resort, Elberta, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a Resort style campground for adults, although children are welcome. The resort offered free laundry and a full exercise room along with a heated pool with hot tub for guest. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way in helping you if needed.
The sites are long and level with full hook-ups with a cement pad. This rate reflects a monthly rate with electrical usage which could vary depending on day time temps. We camped at Lake Osprey RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Millbrook, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

The sewer line was not capped. Instead there was a plastic bag and a piece of wood being used as a plug for our site. The backflow valve was missing. Garbage and recycling was to be picked up between the hours of 9:00 AM and 7:00PM, instead after 8:30 PM. This sat outside all day on our site for kids to kick and play with. My wife and granddaughter were playing miniature golf and the place was a disaster. Loose boards with exposed nails and screws were present with loose electric wire which was laying about and Christmas decoration laying on the ground with hooks and wire fasteners laying about. These were trip points and hazards that a child could easily be hurt by. The general maintenance was lacking and seem to be operated by teenagers and very young adults with no managers present. They were very helpful but some were not very knowledgeable in the operations of the campground. We camped at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Poncho's Pond RV Park, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Park staff was extremely friendly and very help full. Campground was very clean and we had a spacious site for a private campground. Our grandkids camp with us once a summer and they both felt this was the best campground they have stayed with us so far. They can't wait to go back to Poncho's Pond. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Green River Oaks Resort, Amboy, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older campground that the previous owners have let it go into disrepair. The new owners purchased this about three years ago and are trying very hard to bring back to life. The new owners are vary personable and reach out to new campers that are there. They came over to our site and introduced themselves to us on Sunday which I find outstanding and asked if anything needed to be done.
I did mention that some trees need to be trimmed to provide for additional clearance for large rigs. We might come back in a year or two to see what other improvements, that they have made to this campground. We camped at Green River Oaks Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

America's Best Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Large campground but very small sites, but this is Branson MO and very hilly. We were escorted to our site and that was about it. The site was level and all gravel some of the other sites were not as level and would require a lot of blocking to support a unit.
Road surface was in need of repair in the campground on the way out of the park. Site lines when exiting the park could be improved when trying to accelerate uphill with a trailer attached and trying to make a left hand turn on to the highway from the access road. We camped at America's Best Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
