Double M RV, Freer, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Without a doubt this is the best RV Park. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They have a community building that has a bathroom with a shower. They have two washers and dryers. In that community building there is also a full kitchen that you may use. Two televisions are available to use and there are plenty of seats and tables too. We stayed here because we were running from Hurricane Harvey and could not have found a better place to stay. Whether running from a hurricane or not, stay here, you will love it! Run by a couple. Great people! We camped at Double M RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

One of the best DQ's we've been to in Texas. Also the local fare at Liberty Cafe and Dusty Boots are well worth trying. Home cooked food for a great price that won't break your pocketbook.

Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Don't stay if you want a quiet night. Trains run all night and are very noisy and they are loud enough to wake you up. The store is very limited in what they sell. Town is close enough for shopping. Not too much to do here, just basically a place to spend the night on your way to somewhere else. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Wellington KOA, Wellington, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Beware when hooking up to 30 AMP service. Owner claims to know all about electric. Our breaker at the electric box at campsite kept tripping. Owner claims it was our rig, however other campers had to use both outlets to get enough electricity to run their rigs. Other KOA's (and private campgrounds) we have stayed at have had the proper 30 amp hook-up and we have never had a problem with it. Would not stay here gain or recommend. We camped at Wellington KOA in a Motorhome.

Angler's RV Retreat, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

I wanted to do an edit of my previous review but they don't have that option on this site. I have now been here for seven weeks and went ahead and changed the rating to a 10 because even without the laundry - it's a 10! We can ride bikes all over because we are so close to everything. There is a park less than a mile away. Downtown is less than a mile. The fishing is less than a mile. You can ride your bike to Wal-Mart, Post Office, HEB, Burger King, The Diner (restaurant), JJ's (an even better restaurant) and many other places. The laundry is less than two miles away and has plenty of washers and dryers. The owners have two great children and are the best hosts. The monthly rate is $175 and that is what I based the nightly fee on. Electric is $0.14 KWH. But, if you want to come here now, you're out of luck. All nine spots are filled. Would highly recommend this place. We camped at Angler's RV Retreat in a Motorhome.

Quality RV Park, Leesville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park by accident. We were looking for an RV Park close to Fort Polk and happened on this one by accident. It is right outside (approximate 2 1/2 miles) from the gate off of LA 467. About 7 miles from the town of Leesville. The price given is based on the weekly fee of $85. This is so convenient to the post. The campsites are gravel with full hook-ups including cable. Their Wi-Fi is fast and free. Also while we were there they were putting in brand new restrooms and a laundry. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to all. Very friendly owner and quite helpful. We camped at Quality RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rockdale RV Park, Rockdale, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Spent one night here on the way to Rockport. It was fine for an overnight stay if you don't mind hearing a train go by every hour on the hour at night! Plus the Wi-Fi was down the night we stayed. Plus the office is only open during the week. Not very helpful to have it closed on weekends. The park itself was clean and it did have pretty good size lots. But 5 is reflecting the horrible noise level. We camped at Rockdale RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Angler's RV Retreat, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an extremely small campground. It is family owned and they live on premises. Very quiet and very friendly. Close to everything in town. The only reason I am giving this a 9 is because there is no laundry. There's also no community room or pool, but I don't need those things any way. We are staying until March 2011 and think we will really like it here. Weekly rate is $125 (plus electric), monthly rate is $175 (plus electric). We camped at Angler's RV Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Virginia Beach KOA, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Plus side: Very friendly staff and very helpful. Anything you want is within a two, to five mile drive. Lots of great restaurants close. Be sure to check out the Lucky Oyster. Very good! Minus side: Sites are very close together. Lots of trees so hard to get signal with satellite dish and there is no cable TV. But, would stay again. We camped at Virginia Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We, Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Plus side: Quiet, peaceful setting. Friendly hosts and very helpful. Easy on and off from I-10. They have pizza and cheeseburgers available as well as some breakfast items. Minus side: Out in the boonies. No town near there. Too many trees to get any satellite reception. Unlevel sites. But, I would stay here again. We camped at Triple C’s Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee We in a Travel Trailer.

Memphis KOA , Marion, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Plus side. The check-in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. They have a small 'cafe' on site and serve diner type food for supper and breakfast. Easy access from I-55 on and off. Signs directing you to campground are good. Minus side. They claim 70 foot sites but our travel trailer and truck together are 61 foot and we hung over a foot. They claim level sites but we had to use a leveler. The patio we had was broken and replaced in the middle with gravel. No cable and the trees interfere with satellite dish reception. The cafe serves frozen food from Sam's warehouse and the soda they had was flat. When I had her check the expiration date on the soda, it was on the date. She said they bought on sale. Price is way too high for this campground. It is 30 years old and has only been a KOA campground for three years. Needs updating. If desperate I might stay again. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA), Ringgold, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The noise level here is very loud due to the Interstate being right next to the campground. The owners were very rude and unfriendly. The campsites are very close together and the terrain is rough. I would only stay here again if no other option available. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground. Very quiet and peaceful. The campground is very secure as it is gated. After hours rigs are welcome but have to stay outside of the main campground. We have stayed here twice and loved it and the very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to all. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lafayette KOA, Scott, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very good campground. We stay here every time we are traveling Interstate 10 while going to and from Texas and Florida. The office staff are very helpful and friendly. There is also a wonderful restaurant close by that has excellent Cajun Cuisine. The only reason this is getting an eight rating instead of a ten is because it is right next to the Interstate and can be a little noisy at times. Otherwise would recommend this campground to all. We camped at Lafayette KOA in a Travel Trailer.
