Four Seasons RV Resort, Salida, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed right on the River. Water was turned off since it still got cold at nights. Price seemed a bit high since the water was off and there were plenty of sites available. In fact, we were one of only 7 RVs there. Could have gotten a cheaper site but we wanted to be on the River. Bathrooms were quite cold. Not sure why they didn't have the heaters on but made for quick showers. Very clean campground and the people were very nice. This was our third time staying here and we'll be back again! We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Within a few miles of Salida for restaurants & shopping. Nice Walmart 6 miles away. Hit the Patio Pancake House for Breakfast to have the Frankie (half order fills me up...can't imagine anyone eating the full order in one sitting!). 50 Burger has some great burgers & fries. Try the excellent margaritas at Fiesta Mexicana, their Steak Fajitas are fantastic, & the people there are the best! Enjoy the old downtown area also. Bensons often has band on Sunday afternoon's during summer.

Heart Of The Rockies Campground, Poncha Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Great people, easy access! Water pressure very low though. Office staff stated that water is gravity fed. They said owner was aware of the problem. We've stayed here before and the pressure was never that low but there were many more RV'ers this time. Power tripped when we first hooked up. Really nice gentleman came and helped us find the correct power box and, once reset, no problems for two days thereafter. Water hookup also leaked upon hookup, didn't notice it but another gentleman noticed and came by with tools to fix it. Corrected in 5 minutes and all was good. Stream was dry this time. First time we've seen that. The park doesn't have much in trees but makes up for it in space. So many of the full-hookup campgrounds around that area pack RV's in like sardines. This one doesn't. We would stay there again just for the great people! However, they really need to do something about the water pressure. We camped at Heart Of The Rockies Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pleasant Valley RV Park of Howard, Howard, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we've stayed here and we love it! This park is in Howard, not Salida. (About 15 minutes away, scenic drive either direction with plenty of road-side, river stops for fishing, wading, etc.) The sites are a little close but the park is very clean and the owners are fantastic! Nice get-togethers during the weekend (ie: pot-luck dinners with wonderful food, Christmas in July, etc.) Nice river sites (most are back-in) and plenty of non-river sites that are pull-throughs and shaded. Strong internet signal was not as fast as we would like but usable. Although close to the highway, we could hardly hear the road noise due to the sounds of the Arkansas River. Extremely relaxing. We plan on staying again in this pet-friendly RV Park! We camped at Pleasant Valley RV Park of Howard in a Travel Trailer.

Woodland RV Park, Woodland Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean RV Park. You can tell the owner and managers take great pride in their park. All spots have gravel, many are shaded, many have great views of Pikes Peak, and pretty level also (although larger RVs may some problems on some of the smaller lots). No restrooms or showers. Very close to all the great restaurants (the Chinese Restaurant right beside it is one of the best we've ever eaten at) and shopping. Will stay again and again! We camped at Woodland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
