Chutes Provincial Park, Massey, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is in Canadian Dollars. We were in Area A. Very Large Sites, We have 40' 5th Wheel and had more than enough room. The only downside was that it was easier to back into the site by going around the loop in the wrong direction, but no problems. The even numbered sites are easily accessed going in the right direction.

There is no water to the site but potable water available at spigots throughout the park. Roads are narrow with the odd overhanging tree, no issues but be aware. We camped at Chutes Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The name "Chutes" comes from an area in the park that was used for transporting logs down river to the mill. Nice natural swimming area with very pretty falls. 5 km hiking/walking trail within park. Park is about 1.5 km off Hwy 17. Easy access to park.

Heidi's Campground, Hawkestone, Ontario

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived just after the Canadian long weekend. Sites were not too bad once we found a site that could take our 40' 5th Wheel. Girl at desk did not know the capabilities or rather incapabilities of the sites (size). Narrow roads, many seasonal but they seemed to keep there sites fairly neat and tidy. Card required to enter through swing up gate. When we arrived they told us we could get in up to 10 PM as they would open gate from office, so we did not need a card - not true!! Found out the hard way that office was only open 3PM to 6PM! Had to leave truck outside until follow day when we we received card. Not very conducive hours for getting into peak season, hmmmm.

Good strong power, close to the Hwy but nothing overly loud.

Would probably stay here again, but only when no other option. We camped at Heidi's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a large rig, you may want to walk to your site to confirm space and maneuverability. We had a "pull-through" that I had to back out due to vehicles, narrow roads and overhanging branches.

Campers Corner RV Campground (formerly London / 401 KOA), London, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Note: This park is no longer part of the KOA system and is now called Campers Corner RV Campground. The park has not changed owners. We had been here before (last time about 5 years ago) and was not too impressed with its condition and cleanliness. This visit was better, it is still looking old but the grass and landscaping seem to be in better shape. The pool and hot tub are definitely cleaner than we had seen previously. They are improving the road conditions to reduce water/mud puddles. As stated by other reviewers, it is very handy to London and area and good for one or two night stay. We camped at Campers Corner RV Campground (formerly London / 401 KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Loch Lomond RV Park, Amherst, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

What's not to like! Took us less than 60 seconds to check in and get our site! We took a walk around and saw a very neat and tidy campground. The sites are very well maintained. The seasonal campers obviously take great pride in their campsites and the campground. We are not convinced the lake is for swimming but the pool is very nice. Will definitely return. We camped at Loch Lomond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverside RV Park and Campground, Edmundston, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Park hosts are wonderful, always wanting their guests to be happy. A river flows around the park and is quite pretty. We were here about 5 years ago, and there are many additions to children's activities and camping sites since then. The only two faults we found, very buggy (which the owners cannot control) and secondly the WiFi, there are many connections but no internet access! We would definitely return. We camped at Riverside RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. The GPS did not know this address. Use 900 Martin Luther King Ave. it will get you close. Excellent staff, good Wi-Fi from our site near office. Level cement pads on large sites, good water pressure and cable. Nice walkway along the Mississippi River that is about a 2 minute walk from our site. Can watch the river traffic. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, quite a distance from I-20. Most roadways are paved and the rest are gravel. Our site K was very level and very long. Spaces close together though. May look elsewhere next time through. Good for overnight. We camped at Texas RV Park of Big Spring in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Passport America with Wi-Fi charges. What a hidden gem! It is at the end of a 7-mile gravel road but it is worth every mile. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The owner took us out to look at some petroglyphs close by in his ATV and to see his 9 horses. They have only owned this park a little over a year but they really know how to make people feel welcome. Will definitely come back for a longer stay. We camped at Hidden Valley Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Halifax West KOA, Upper Sackville, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park with narrow roads. We had to be very alert moving through this park. We arrived after a good rain and many of the sites had a lot of standing water puddles. Many of the puddles were close to the plug-in points that make plugging your RV in a little dangerous (water and electricity no match). This park needs its roads widened and sites renovated with gravels to reduce the standing water issue. Staff was friendly and accommodating. WIFI was acceptable, but would come and go at times. Would probably not stay here again. We camped at Halifax West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old KOA campground. They give both KOA and Good Sam discounts which is good. Our 5th is just shy of 40 feet in length and this park is fairly old which makes getting around the park a challenge. Park owners and staff were great. Good solid WIFI and power. Would probably try somewhere else next time only due to the narrowness of roads, etc. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Shores Camping Area, Kensington, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. With PEI being on the small side it is easy to see people from all over the island. We stayed 4 nights here in the new section overlooking the tidal bay. Beautiful view with good solid 50 amp service. The WIFI service did not reach to these new sites as yet. Staff were excellent and park had a great checking process and gate cards, etc. We would stay here again. We camped at Twin Shores Camping Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Barrie KOA, Barrie, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

In my opinion this is one of the premier KOA's that we have stayed. Immediately after a site is vacated, the staff are cleaning/raking the site, emptying the fire pit etc. One of the few parks that also pick up your garbage and recycling twice per day. Staff is very friendly and always more than willing to help out. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Barrie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wildwood Conservation Area, St Marys, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $43.00

Very nice park. Very close to St. Mary's and Stratford. Excellent staff. Some of the campsites have quite a slope going from front to back that will force some innovative leveling techniques. We camped at Wildwood Conservation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
