A decent campground. Large, clean lake with sites that are very tight if you choose a site right on the lake. If you like it quiet and want some room and privacy, request a site up on the hill away from the lake. Small game room and playgrounds for the kids. Do not bring your bikes as the owner does not allow bike riding on the grounds. I would not recommend bringing your dog if you have one as the owner doesn't allow you to walk them on his property. Although I noticed that other campers were so I did too. If you need a trash bag, you can buy one for $3.75 otherwise you can use your own trash bag and carry it out with you and dispose of it yourself. There are no dumpsters anywhere. My wife and I and my K-9 partner had a negative experience at Lakeside Camping and will not return.

Our site was ocean front. That's why its so high in price. The ocean front sites have only water and electric and no sewer. To my wife and I that didn't matter. Just the view of the water, the seals and other aquatic wildlife is worth the price. A "chuck wagon" has daily specials from succulent lobster to pancake breakfasts. Small playground, laundry area and a small motorized train that cruises the campground for all ages to ride. Free trolleys that take you anywhere you need to go on the island. Something for everyone at the Bar Harbor KOA. We will definitely return.
