Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Small, clean friendly. Nice shaded sites. There are different loops: the A loop has pull-through sites and is shady. The B loop is back in, but the sites are angled in such a way that you can pull up to the site opposite, straighten out and back right in. The C loop is near the pool, office, restrooms and laundry and is mostly sunny. The D loop is mostly shady but was being expanded as of April 2018 so there is some construction at the far end. Each site has a covered garbage can at its entrance which is changed daily. Easy check-in and very friendly staff. If you're traveling on I-85 and need a good, clean place to overnight or if you're in the Lexington / Salisbury area to visit, this is the place to stay. Bathrooms are immaculate, and I wish every campground had these showers: separate changing area with three hooks for hanging clothes, a bench to sit on, and handheld shower heads! Nice playground for the kids and a fishing pond. The campground is close to I-85 but the traffic noise was not bad, even if you're tent/popup camping. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have kids, I would recommend visiting Dan Nicholas Park (about 10 minutes away). It has an amazing playground, kid size railroad, splash pad, paddleboats and fishing hiking, a carousel, gem mine and an aquarium / nature center.
