Grand Canyon Camper Village, Tusayan, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

According to the AAA Campground Book, this campground is supposed to accept all major credit cards. When we arrived this was not the case and were forced to go get cash. The site we had was shaded, though we had to remove the horse waste before we could set up camp. The bathrooms were infested with flies and bugs and had no soap for handwashing. We camped at Grand Canyon Camper Village in a Truck Camper.

Chatfield State Park, Littleton, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The nightly rate posted is misleading. Not only is there a six dollar entrance fee per day for each night of camping, but if you make your reservation ahead of time with Colorado State Parks, you're charged an eight dollar reservation fee. All of these fees raise the price almost to the fees charged for a private campground. The restrooms had no soap or paper towels to wash hands. The park employees at the entrance gate weren't exactly helpful or friendly, and in one case were downright rude. We camped at Chatfield State Park in a Truck Camper.

Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was a lovely place. Everything was clean and well maintained. The shuttle stop for Bryce Canyon is right in front of the campground. The sites were well spaced and not crowded at all. Groceries and supplies were well stocked in their camping store, and there was a bigger grocery store a quarter of a mile up the road. We camped at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground in a Truck Camper.

The Travel Camp, Green River, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2005 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We fondly called this Tex's Travel Nightmare. While the people were very nice and our site was clean and well spaced, the campground itself, we felt, was very unsafe. There were random children running around with pit bulls and guys using big earth moving equipment for riding around the campground. There was one bathroom which was accessable only by hiking up a hill, which we were not inclined to do in the middle of the night. Overall, this campground was not what it was billed to be in the AAA Campground Guide. We camped at The Travel Camp in a Truck Camper.
