Silent Valley Club (Members Only), Banning, California

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Everything is clean, the staff is nice and helpful and the other campers are friendly. I love the fact that this is not a parking lot. So yes, some of the sites are a little dirty, but aren't we camping. The sites are large. We have plenty of room to put a tent out for the kids. There is no AT&T cell service, but there is Sprint and Verizon. The bathrooms are very clean. The pools are very well maintained and there is a lifeguard at the family pool. We were up during Labor Day weekend and there was free entertainment. There is something for everyone here, adults and children. I could go on and on. We will definitely return. We camped at Silent Valley Club (Members Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Bolsa Chica State Beach, Huntington Beach, California

Date of Stay: December, 2006 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This campground or parking lot is located right on PCH. So as stated before; the beach side or odd numbered sites are much more quiet. We enjoyed our time and already have reservations for the summer. There is a great bike trail and snack bars. There is even a dog beach close by. The state park site says the have WiFi, but they didn't. We camped at Bolsa Chica State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice clean RV park. We stayed in the older area on the lake. The sites were huge. There are quite a few critters and bugs so be careful with your trash. The pool was nice and clean and the hot tub was HOT. WiFi was not available at our site; we didn't have to go far to get it though. They say fishing, but I didn't see anybody catch any edible fish. We enjoyed our stay there and my return. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

Bolsa Chica State Beach, Huntington Beach, California

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a parking lot on PCH. Saying that it is also right on one of the best beaches in So. Cal., Surf City, USA. The weather was perfect, the camp hosts and park staff were great, they even have activities planned in the summer. The only problem is noise. The even numbered site are right on PCH lots of road noise, but the bird noise can be heard everywhere, and it is not just a few seagulls. We had to turn our A/C on in the morning just so we could sleep past sunrise. I would love to go again, but I would have to make sure the birds hadn't migrated yet. We camped at Bolsa Chica State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

Carpinteria State Beach, Carpinteria, California

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent CA State park. Everything was clean. There are plenty of park rangers to patrol; so security was great. You can walk or ride your bike into town. The beaches are nice and clean. Some of the sites are a little cramped, but the ones closer to the railroad tracks have a lot of space. Saying that the train noise isn't too bad. This is definitely and annual event. We camped at Carpinteria State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

Sam's Family Spa, Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: February, 2006 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a strange park, but we love it and have been many times. Half of the place is mobile homes and the other half is an RV resort. There are 4 natural mineral pools and a large swimming pool that is also heated by the natural hot springs. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. They have a small store with most of what you could need. We will definitely go back again and again. We camped at Sam's Family Spa in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Casitas Recreation Area, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground; there is even a waterpark for the kids. Close to town, but you don't have to leave if you don't want to. There is a store and a couple of places to get food. No swimming or skiing in the lake, but there is fishing. If you don't have a boat you can rent one. We will definitely go back. We camped at Lake Casitas Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Amazing views and great trails for the pets and kids. You can hear the ocean. The Wi-Fi connection is too unstable to even say they offer it. The staff is very nice. We will definitely return again and again. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort, Newport Beach, California

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed. This RV park is located in the flight path of a major airport, very noisy, planes taking off at 7am-11pm. The pool was closed for most of our three days. I asked for late check out when I arrived and they proceeded to rent out our space on our departure date, even though there were many other sites in the same class available. The park is clean and there is a lot of security. We will not return. We camped at Newport Dunes Waterfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a campground not an RV resort. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The weekend was loud, but very peaceful during the week. The lake is clean with lifeguards for swimming. We will return. We camped at Lake Perris State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice clean campground. The staff is nice. The restrooms and showers are clean. The sites are dirt and being spring ours was muddy. Lucky for us the mud wasn't in the way.
