Findley State Park, Wellington, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Happy that Finley State Park finally added electric to several of their sites. The park location is ideal for our visits to the area we grew up. This park's location made for a short drive to the Lorain County Fair, located in Wellington Ohio. The Lake is soon to be dredged, a holding location was being constructed during the summer of 2o15 that will hold the material removed from that operation. For those who fish, the lake provides good fishing which starts as soon as ice starts to clear the lake surface with pike becoming hungry and aggressive early spring. Bass, crappie, and bluegills are also plentiful. Walking trails through out the park as well as disc golf and a sandy beach area for swimming. Canoe rental is also offered. The campgrounds has rental cabins for those who do not own an RV. We camped at Findley State Park in a Truck Camper.

Timber Ridge Campground, Amherst, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is now called Timber Ridge Campground. It has new owners for three years or more. They have made several improvements to the Campgrounds. The Pool is located inside a huge building with attached shower & changing rooms. New game room has been added and there is a catch & release fishing lake. It's very family friendly. Two playgrounds with swings, slides and sandboxes for fun of all ages. Several seasonal campers here but there is plenty of space for other campers. We camped at Timber Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Timber Ridge Campground, Amherst, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great Campground!! Very family friendly. The owners are working hard to improve the park. The campground staff were always friendly. The Park has a great group of dedicated work campers who have maintained very well. The park tends to be full on holidays and many weekends were filled as well. Location was good for visits to Cleveland or to Sandusky and Cedar Point. They have an indoor pool that was heated. They have a very nice fishing lake. Lots of activities throughout the season. We camped at Timber Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.
