Good campground to stay at for the week. Site had good shade and decent privacy, but not the same for all sites. Flushable toilets, sinks, water and garbage. Great place to just camp with no fancy stuff. Was fairly quiet but very busy with the summer campers this year. Would recommend to anyone unless you like camping in luxury.

What a nice area to camp. This place is just inside Ranchester with only a small, brown sign to show the turn. Once you get to it, though, it's fantastic. The campground was deserted, we were the only ones there so the quiet was great. The river goes around three sides of the campground so it seems like your on an island. Campground was clean, though primitive, but we like that sort of camping. At only $9 a night, it was the best deal around for our 1 night. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay from one to three nights. Great place

Very nice place to stay in the area, especially for the price. We showed up at 9:30 pm but called ahead to tell them we would be late. They said no problem and left a map for us at the office with directions to our site. They have a special tenting only area that is quiet, out of the way of RVs and shaded for sites. The bathrooms and showers were only 200 ft from our site, that was great! Would highly recommend this campground to tenters and anyone with an RV. Only a couple minutes drive to Custer and a very pleasant area.
